Chapter Two

Fellow students of different grades rushed passed me, shoulders bumping and curse words thrown my way as I pushed through groups of friends.

"Watch it, idiot!" A tall bleach blonde girl with freckles dotted across her face yelled at my way after I stepped on her black heels."UGH! I just bought these!" "My apologies, I hadn't realized keeping your shoes clean is more important than keeping your self clean." I retorted.

"Wha-!?" She stuttered at my response. A smirk played at my lips watching her reaction as she stared into my eyes as if trying to intimidate me which of course did nothing, realizing that she turned around, flipping her hair behind her as she strutted off. I ignored the girls that glanced at me which seemed to be the blonde's friends as I continued to walk away forcing my way into the sea of teenagers.

Finally I reached 1st period where I saw Carolyn sitting at her desk reading a novel probably a romance one, she was a hopless romantic. Once she has her hands on a book of that sorce she will never be able to remove her eyes from the literature. I slowly walked up and put my finger on the tip of the book and brought it down to rest on the desk."Found you." I greeted. A smile lit up her face as she peeled her eyes off the book and looked up at me. "Tis I who found you."she replied softly"Oh really now?" "Mhmm...Now if you excuse me Edward was just about to kiss Bella... Now shoo." "You can't really be reading, Twilight is it? That book is nonsense." I expressed. Of course she would read that. "It happens to be very vivid and sweet." She stated. "So you like vampires, and romance combined?" I questioned sitting down at my desk that happened to be next to her's.

"I like the hope of love between two diverse beings." "You know that was incredibly insightful. But, cheesy and too unrealistic for me." I replied. "Oh hush up what happened to being Mr.Brightside?" She winked reffering to my favorite song. "So thats how i should act now okay, then... OH MY LORD the sky is so beautiful look at the white streaks of clouds across that large blue dome we call the atmosphere, my gosh, I'm so grateful for such a thing, as a matter of fact, I happen to be grateful for many things, such as this education, the food provided for us in this magical place, OH! And i can't forget those sanitary bathrooms how beautiful they can be! And don't get me started on the traffic in the hallways!-" "OK, OKAY stop, geez, Don't be that happy about those terrible things!" She cut me off abruptly, happily I quieted down, I've never been so enthusiastic about something so pathetic in my life. Ugh,I sicken myself."Don't do that again, only I'm allowed to be that way.Agreed?" "Agreed." I sighed glad I'll never have to be like that anymore."Good." She smiled back "Now, let me be." At that I turned around knowing how much she disliked being disturbed and opened my journal. I flipped to the last page and began to doodle nonsense with my black pen.

The rest of the day rushed by until, finally i was in my favorite class, Theatre. The class was rehearsing a play to be performed at the end of the week. As always, I wasn't an actor, I chose Theatre because i enjoyed being different personalities too much. As much as i wanted to, the teacher never put me in the plays even though i could act out all the roles easily, I stayed behind setting up the stage and lighting. After watching classmates make fools of themselves on stage the bell rang making me leap from my seat and rush out the room.

Carolyn stood at the door waving at me to hurry up. My pace quickened and soon enough I was right next to her walking out of the school."Where to? I KNOW! lets go to the park!" She exclaimed. "Fine by me, as long as we walk." She knew about my hatred for public transportation, so unsanitary, crowded and dangerous. "Of course what other choices do we have, we always walk home.Walking a few extra blocks wouldnt hurt." "Exactly" I gladly replied. We walked our way out of school property, out of the neighborhood and towards the park.

Bright lights flashed around me as I stood over Carolyn's lifeless body.It all happened too quickly. We where crossing the road as a bus flew our way she hadn't noticed, she was busy admiring the sky above. I tried pushing her out of the way but instead failed, pushing her closer into the oncoming traffing. Soon enough the large bus collided with her petite figure. All I could do was watch in horror as her now lifeless body flew across the street. When she hit the floor a thick red liquid pooled around her body. Suddenly, my thoughts changed, a strange wanting over came me as i rushed to her side. Her blood filled my hands as I whispered to her hoping she could hear. "Don't go, don't leave me, PLEASE, don't!" As I looked around me red and blue flashing lights began surrounding us .Paramedics rushed to Carolyn and took her from my arms. I turned to look at my blood covered hands and felt that same wanting. I watched in amazement as the dark warm liquid dripped down my hands. Why did I feel the need to devour this liquid? Disgusted in myself I remembered my best friend in need. I ignored my strange thoughts and ran to the ambulance that now had Carolyn strapped to a gurney. Adults began surrounding me asking me questions that I ignored I could only focus on Carolyn and thought of ways to save her myself.
