Chapter 3

May had gotten her fair share of Oldale town for the day and decided to continue on her path. May hummed merrily along her way, ready to catch some more pokemon to join her journey. 

May was walking through the tall grass when she happened to bump into a boy which ended with them both crumpled in the grass. May and the boy both quickly popped back up, and apologized profusely to each other. When May looked up, she felt her heart start to pound faster. The boy had perfect tea-green hair that looked like it came out of a storybook. He wore a periwinkle-color school uniform with sky blue tennis shoes. When he looked up from the ground, May saw his large ice-blue innocent eyes, his lips peach with a hint of pink, and she felt her heart beat even faster.

 "Uh, I'm May." May held out her hand for him to shake. The boy shook it after a moment of hesitation. "I'm sorry for bumping into you. Guess I was a bit too caught up in finding pokemon!" May apologized again. "Oh, you are a pokemon trainer?" the boy asked. "I'm sorry I should probably introduce myself, I'm Wally." He said. "Hello Wally, nice to meet you, and yes, I am a pokemon trainer." May said. "What type of pokemon is your favorite?" Wally asked shyly while brushing aside a chunk of green hair, just to let another fall in front of his face. "I think I would have to go with flying, even though I don't have any yet!" May said, warming up to Wally pretty quickly. "What about you?" she asked. "You got any favorites Wally?" After a moment to think Wally replied by saying, "Psychic is my favorite. I was hoping to catch a Ralts out here, but there is no way I would be able to catch one even if it was out here." Wally's face drooped. May hated to see anyone sad, There has to be some way for me to help Wally catch a Ralts... May thought to herself.

"OH!" May exclaimed. "My father's gym is quite close. I'm sure you could find it Wally maybe he could help you catch a Ralts!" May told Wally. Wally's face lit up like a Christmas tree. "Ya mean it!?" Wally said with excitement in his voice."Yeah of course! Unfortunately... I can't come with at the moment." May said. Wally's face fell slightly, and he said, "aw, well maybe we could meet each other later on?" May replied, "You know what, I probably could meet you tomorrow evening near my father's gym. Yeah!" Wally's mouth broke into a smile and he said "OK! See ya soon May! Bye!" May said goodbye and Wally ran off through the tall grass, looking back just once to wave his hand and share the heart-melting smile of his one last time, before he looked away and ran off.
