_UNEDITED_

Sadie had come over to Mandie’s house for company and help because Mandie believes she knows what to do.

So there they were, Mandie sat cross-legged in front of Sadie that was on her stomach, roughly jabbing her fingers on her laptop’s keyboard as she was researching ways on how to solve this problem.

Mandie was becoming wary and frustrated at her current situation. It’s been a whole week when she started to ignore her best friend to hang out with another girl. Sadie was actually ecstatic to finally hang out with Mandie. While Feli is stands there, dumbfounded, shocked and hurt. The sight of this made Mandie’s stomach go crazy guilty.

And each day made it harder and harder. Mandie knows how much of a coward she is but it cannot be help since she’s been so selfless her entire life, giving and giving but she has nothing to give anymore and Feli knows that.

Feli has kept quiet which is making her go insane. She doesn’t know why but she knows a thing for sure. She and her–ex—best friend are cowards.

“Aha!” Sadie’s voice blew away the image of Feli’s hurt face from Mandie’s head making her look at Sadie. Her eyes glowing with pride.

“What do you mean?” Mandie leant over to see what Sadie has discovered in her laptop.

“I think I found a way but it is the only one that could really work.” She gushed as she sat up and face Mandie.

“Well, are you going to tell me?” Mandie ushered Sadie and she nodded.

“The only way is to be one of them.” She said reluctantly as she scrunched up her nose in pure disgust. Although she was proud to find a solution for Mandie, she didn’t completely admire the idea.

“Be what what now?” Mandie’s brows knit together as she didn’t understand what her crazy friend meant.

“You.Have.To.Be.Popular.” Sadie stretched every word just enough for Mandie to catch up on.

Mandie’s face showed absolute horror as she heard this.

“Are you kidding me?!” she yelped helplessly, all the colour draining from her face as she deciphered what Sadie has said.

Her? A popular girl? Is she in some kind of parallel universe?

“Have you gone absolutely crazy now?” she questioned, still thinking about it.

“Well,” Sadie put her MacBook aside to fully face Mandie.

“If you want to be with her... you have to be like her.” She stated hesitantly. And the tension of the room grew thicker. Mandie stared into deep space as she thought.

A few more seconds pass before Sadie finally spoke up, “Well I am going to go now. I have a Physics quiz tomorrow.” She packed her laptop inside her Pearlized Ash Grey Seoul Kipling backpack before slinging it carefully over her shoulder. She tucks a lock of chocolate reddish brown hair behind her ear as she waited a response from Mandie.

“Okay, I’ll see you tomorrow then.” Was all that came out of Mandie’s mouth. Her mind wandered somewhere else. Sadie gave her a half smile before leaving her room. Now Mandie was all alone with her clouding brain.

“Ah shiz.” She whispered to herself as she dropped her back to meet her cotton duvet.

*ANOTHER WEEK OF PURE TORTURE*

Mandie has researched everything to make her popular and step one was to dress like someone popular.

She has asked for a fashion torture but her mom said it was impossible. So instead she bought every single issue of Teen Vogue, Cosmo, Seventeen and so on. It helped but it was confusing. She was learning from a magazine instead of a book.
