I walk into the school building and sit down in the gym and wait for the bell for first period to ring. As I'm sitting there thinking about meeting my teachers, I recognize a voice that I've heard before. I look up, and Gabe is trying to find a seat. I start to smile as he recognizes me and says "Hi, Paige." I smile and say hello back. I go to my first period class. Gabe happens to be in that class. We get our assigned seats, and I get seated next to Gabe. We also het partnered in a class activity together. I also made a new friend, Gabrielle. I tell her the situation me and Gabe are in and explain it to her. She goes to him to ask him out for me because I'm too shy. He unfortunately says he's not interested. My heart drops down to my stomach, my gut flips and flops, and my tears start rolling down my face. I ask to use the restroom so I don't get embarrassed in front of Gabe. He has 5 classes with me and if he sees me crying then I'll be even more humiliated. At the end of the day i get my backpack out of my locker and look forward to going home after this horrible day I've had so far.
