I always got really bored in the summer, so I looked forward to hanging out with friends. One of my favorite parts of the summer was the huge family reunion we had every year. Our whole family on my mom's side would get together at some cool house for 3 days. I have 18 cousins, so the reunions were pretty fun.
So anyways, I was sitting around at my house, waiting for something to happen, when my mom came into the room looking grim. She called a family meeting and we all gathered in the living room. She announced that there had been a change of plans.
Right then, I knew something was going to be ruined. I waited and braced myself for the news. "Aunt Kylee's family has a wedding to attend during our planned reunion time, and there's no other opportunities to reschedule, so we can't have the reunion this year."
I was devastated. This was the worst news I had ever heard. I had planned out a whole dance with my little sister that we could perform at the talent show. I had been so prepared, just to have it crushed now. I went to my room to sulk.
I spent my day feeling crabby, but decided that I had other things to look forward to over the summer, like watching OUAR, or Once Upon A Rhyme. It was a cool tv show that put together a ton of nursery rhymes to make a story. I could also look forward to CET, which was Children's Educational Theater. It was a really cool theater thing that lasted for six weeks and I was going to do tech there. Meters and Vanillo would also be at CET so I wouldn't be lonely.
