Alex and Jake were getting up as soon as they fell on the ground.
Jake then snapped.
"What the heck happened?!", he said, panicking as if he was surrounded.
"Didn't you notice?" said Alex. "That stupid light pulled us inside the forest and you are panicking? What's wrong with you?!", he said, after snapping.
They saw some of the tourists that were on the ground.
"Are you okay?" he asked to the tourists.
Some of them nodded. Then a loud beeping sound was heard on the whole forest.
It was ear-splitting so everyone got stunned, even when covering their ears
"Please, make it stop! My head hurts!" said one of the tourists, who was African American.
Jake and Alex were suffering along with the crowd. The beep was unbearable so two of the tourists killed themselves.
Then the beep stopped. Everyone at not hearing it anymore, thanked and sighed on relief while bursting on tears out of desperation.
Then Jake looked up.
Leaves were moving on the trees, as if someone was behind them. A cannon with a spike was sticking out of the tree, aiming down to where he was and about to shoot. Then he shouted, "EVERYONE, STAY BACK!"
As soon as he finished the order the spike was shot, and Jake received it in his right shoulder. He saw it was a hook launcher to catch things. And before he could grab the wire to pull it down, the strange cannon pulled him up towards itself.
"Mr. Smith!" cried Alex.
And as soon Jake got inside the tree, the last thing heard from him was pain screams and the sound of knives cutting through flesh. Several drips of blood were falling down the tree, which got Alexander and the crowd scared.
"OH NOOO!! They killed Mr. Smith!"
All the crowd aside from Alex was screaming on fear, as if they were feeling that they would be the next person to be killed.
Alex was crying and wondering, and minutes later, he snapped after recovering with his mental breakdown. He took out his loudspeaker and said:
"Your attention, please! I said your attention please!!"
They stopped screaming.
"I will guide you back home. I don't know how, but I will do it. Just keep yourselves calm down."
Then Alex walked to a random direction, and the crowd followed him. Several hours later, they ended up lost on a far spot.
"Where we are? I thought you were guiding us back home!" said one of the tourists.
"We shouldn't have trusted you, liar!" said another.
And then began the rage and insults towards Alexander.
"Give me back my money!" said a middle-aged man who was in the crowd and insulting the novice.
The uproar went on until a blue light shimmered. It was the same light that shined several hours ago.
Alex, taking advantage of that, said: "Do you see that light? Let's use its source as a reference point. The farther we go from that light, the nearer we will back home." But that meant going into even greater danger.
