Chapter 4:
Stay
{Zoe's POV}
I look out my side view mirror to see Leo running passed the stopped traffic. Did he follow me all this way? I open my car door and stand up just as he's approaching.
"Zoe," He says panting. "Leo? What the hell are you doing here?!" I say looking around at the surrounding cars, whose passengers all have their eyes on us.
"I came here to tell you that... that I love you. And I know you're fed up with all my bullshit and I completely understand why you'd want to leave me for the summer. But, but I want you to stay. If you leave you're going to find someone else so much better then me." Tears well up in his eyes and I'm about ready to cry to. "Leo, I love you more then anything, I have hope in you. If I didn't I would've left you. I'm not leaving for the summer to get away from you, but from work too, you know how much stress I've be under lately. Now you need to have faith in me, you have to trust that I won't find someone else, 'cause I would never do that to you ever." I say, tears now rolling down my cheeks.
"Promise?"
"I promise," at this point we're standing so close to each other that our chests are touching. He leans down to kiss me, his eyelids already closed over his deep brown eyes, I lean in and our lips meet, I run my hands through his chestnut brown hair while he wraps his hand around my waist. There's something about the kiss that feels off, but I brush that feeling away.
I almost forgot that we were in the middle of a traffic jam until our kiss was interrupted by several horns honking, we pull apart and I get back in my car. "I love you," He says. I just nod my head, not wanting to say it back.
Once he leaves I bang my head on the steering wheel, What did I just do?
Within ten minutes the traffic begins to move again, I stop to get a quick bite to eat at Mickey Dee's as soon as I'm done there I resume my ride to the Shore House.
I don't arrive until after 1 AM, the house is dark and the door is locked. Luckily, I've been there enough times to know where they hide the spare key.
I quietly enter the house, being careful not to wake anyone. To my surprise the TV is on, "Hello?" I call. A tall figure stands up from the couch, "Aye," Who ever it is, is obviously British. They flip on a light switch and my mouth immediately drops, it was Harry from One Direction. He's even hotter in person.
"You must be Zoe?" He asks.
"Y-yeah," I unintentionally stutter, as he begins to walk towards me, reaching out to grab my bags from me.
"I'm Harry," He says smiling. "It's nice to meet you," I smile back. "You must be one of Layla's friends?"
"Yeah, me and some of my other... erm, bandmates were invited along with." He says, sitting back down on the couch, I sit down next to him. "Oh, I see. Why are you up this late anyways?" "I just," He shrugs, "Couldn't go to sleep." I don't ask why, I just leave it at that. Sometimes it's best not to get into other peoples business.
We sit and talk until 2:30 AM, the more we talk the more I find myself falling for him. I hang onto every word that leaves his mouth. I'm hypnotized by his accent. We sit in silence, just staring into each others matching green eyes, it feels like we should kiss, we both know that's what should happen at that moment. Instead, I tell him I'm going to bed.
No. We didn't kiss. No, we didn't become anything other then friends. But, my feelings for him made me feel as if I already broke my promise to Leo
