Fire ripped through a clearing burning everything in it's path. "Mommy!" a kit yowled, terrified beyond belief as the tips of the flames lapped at his fur.
"Stay where you are!" the mother yowled back. Ash's fell down onto the kit as he squealed and skittered backwards towards the hands of heat.
"Don't move backwards! Try to come to me" The mother called out blindly to her son. "Blazekit!" A she-kit said.
"Move back, Ashkit!" The panicked voice of the queen meowed, using her muzzle of white to shove the young she-cat back.
A tree branch fell, throwing up dust and ashes and showering the kit who was knocked off of his feet "No!" Cried the orange she-cat as she tried to find a way around the walls of fire. From behind the queen, thundering paw steps sounded as warriors entered their burning camp to remove the hysterical she-cat and her kit from the scene as others tried to reach the trapped.
However, due to the thick smoke that filled the air and burned the cats' lungs, they had to retreat.
"My baby!" The queen wailed as she was lead from the burning forest towards the members of Fireclan.
"Come... Breezewing will get you some herbs and we'll come back after the fire to look for his body." A large white tom said, trying to hide his sorrow.
The tom couldn't breath and but was still conscious, fighting to gulp in something.
"Blazekit, can you hear me!" a voice called, none known to him. "Mommy?" he tried to say.
"Come with me." A toms voice could be heard over the sound of the raging fire. The tom picked up the tiny bundle of fur and dashed out of the burning camp.
