My heart was pounding with fear, the adrenaline rushing through my veins. I pushed myself to keep running, to keep fighting the burning pain in my legs, because if I didn't I'd have to face that repulsive creature once again. As I ran through the nebulous forest, rose bushes slashed at my arms and legs sometimes digging deep causing me to howl in pain. I didn't dare look down to see just how deep the thorns were digging in, as the sight of blood made me feel nauseous.

It felt as if I had been running for hours. My legs felt like twigs, as if they could snap any second. But I continued to push myself, using all the energy I had left but it didn't last long. Eventually, I crashed to the ground and smashed my head against a tree as I fell, causing me to loose all sense of direction.

For what felt like hours I fell in and out of consciousness, my sight was blurry and my surroundings started to spin.

As my eyes slowly fluttered open a dark feeling swept over me, causing me to shudder. I suddenly realised why I was here. Panic kicked in and I began to hyperventilate; it felt like all air had disappeared. I gasped for air but only a small amount filled my lungs. Due to being temporarily unconscious I had completely forgotten about the vile creature from which I was running from. I cowered with fear at the thought of it. My mind began to race, making up scenarios where the creature would hunt me down and torture me like something out of a horror film. The thought of it filled me with abhorrence and terror. I wasn't safe here.

My head began to pound where I had hit it. I carefully touched my head where it hurt and a large bump had already formed. Slowly, I pulled my hand back down and it was covered in blood. Blood was everywhere. It was dripping down my arm, staining my clothes. Almost instantly my head felt light and once again my surroundings started to spin. What was about to happen next was inevitable. I was going to faint leaving me vulnerable in the middle of an isolated forest where I was certain no one would find or help me if anything happened. And then, as expected, everything went black.
