Jonathan's POV:

I opened my cabinets and peered inside; no chips. I looked inside my fridge; no milk, no eggs, nothin'. "Fffffuck!" I hissed loudly.

Luke walked in trough the front door. "What are you cussin' at now?" He asked.

I jumped slightly at the sound of the door slamming and whipped my head to glare at him over my shoulder. "How many times I gotta tell you to knock? I could be... I don't know, havin' sex or somethin'!" I exclaimed angrily.

"Yea right, ya' weirdo." Luke laughed, "you couldn't get laid even if you tried!" He challenged.

"Just fuckin' watch me!" I picked up my keys and wallet, walking briskly toward the door.

"Aye! Where ya goin? I just got here." Luke raised a brow.

"I'm going to get laid!" I exclaimed, pulling open my front door.

"Oh yea? Where do you plan to pick someone up?"

"The grocery store." I retorted.

"There are a lot of sausages there." Luke teased with a smirk.

"Shut the hell up!" I exclaimed with a chuckle before stepping outside and closing the door behind me. I got into my car with a sigh, starting the ignition with a pop. I had a black Honda. It was old and a bit rusted but it served me well. I pulled out of my driveway and drove off.

Soon, I arrived at the store, hopped out of my car and walked in. I grabbed a cart and started to pace the isles, grabbing a few bags of chips, a carton of eggs, milk, cereal, red bull, granola bars and practically everything else under the sun. Once I had everything I needed, I made my way to the front of the store to check out. The lines were all relatively empty so I just picked the closest one and started to unload the food onto the conveyor belt. Someone stepped into line behind me and I took a quick glance for the hell of it only to do a double take.

No fucking way.

I looked away, chewing the inside of my cheek as I pondered my own thoughts.

Wildcat?!

It was unmistakable.

What the hell is Tyler doing in North Carolina???

I tapped my foot anxiously as the young, apathetic looking teen behind the counter slowly swiped the food across the scanner at an agonizingly turtle-like pace. I really just wanted out. I didn't want anyone to know who I really was, especially Tyler.

The teen finished bagging my stuff and I fumbled with my wallet in an attempt to get out my credit card, dropping it in the process. "Ah shit!" I hissed under my breath and bent down to pick the wallet up, only to meet hands with someone. Looking up, I was greeted by deep blue-ish green eyes. Tyler.

We both stood up, not breaking eye contact, hands still on the wallet. "Ah, sorry..." He said and let go of my wallet, finally looking away

"No...thank you..." I said in an awkward, quiet tone. I knew if anything, he'd recognize my voice.

I bit my tongue and turned, finally pulling out my card to pay. The worker swiped it and I received my receipt, hurriedly pushing my cart away. I half expected Tyler to say something more but there was nothing.

I reached my car and started to load the groceries into the trunk. I sighed deeply and got into my car, hitting my head on the steering wheel. Close call, I thought and sat back, starting the car.

"Wait!" A voice called and I looked over to see Tyler jogging up to my car. Rolling my eyes, I cranked down the window. "You forgot this." He said and handed me a small piece of plastic. My game stop card. "Must've fallen out of your wallet or something..." He rubbed the back of my neck.

"Thanks." I said, taking it and setting it in the empty cup holder beside me. I put the car from park to reverse, really wanting to leave.

"Hey, uh, my names Tyler. What's yours?" He questioned, putting his hand on the side of the car as if subtly trying to stop me from leaving.

He must know, he wouldn't be doing this other wise, right?

I must have zone out cause Tyler waved a hand in front of my face. "Hello? Anyone home?" He asked jokingly with a small chuckle.

"Yeah, no, my names J-" I stopped myself. I wasn't about to tell him my real name but I wasn't very good at coming up with stuff on the fly so I just spat out the first J name I could think of. "My name's Joe."

"Joe? My friend has a dog named Joe, he laughed.

Where do you think I got it from?

"Really? Small world." I flashed a fake smile, still desperately wanting to leave before Tyler realized who I was.

"Uh, you're local right?" He asked and I gave a hesitant nod yes. "Good, cause I was hoping you could, ya' know, show me around here." Is he flirting with me right now? "I don't know where jack shit is around here." Tyler laughed and gave me a slight look, asking if I was up for it.

I didn't have the heart to tell him no. "Uh... I don't know... Maybe." I looked anywhere but at him.

"Well, if you change your mind, just call me." He took a pen from his back pocket and motioned for my arm. I hesitantly gave it to him and he scrawled a number sloppily across my skin.

"Sure." I muttered with yet another fake smile.

Tyler waved his goodbye and walked off to where he was parked. Before he hopped into his car, he held his fingers up to his ear and made a phone symbol, winking at me before driving off with the roar of his engine.

Baffled, I just sat there.
Did that really just happen???
