Chapter 16 the forest

"hey Sam,I like your sweater it says exactly what you do all day!"my stepdad said as I walked into the kitchen and sat down."thanks, so.. watcha cooking?smells great!"I asked taking my usual coffee from him.

"In making custard.want some?"

"of course,but you'll have to save me some I want to go on an early run..is that okay,I mean is it safe to go...alone?"he turned around as soon as he heard "alone" and had this odd expression on his face."I think it's best if you go with someone,after your mate explained what happened to that girl I've been feeling like something is going to happen.." he sighed

"oh..uh okay,sure I'll go with Ebony and Eva."I saind getting up and heading upstairs to my room.once inside I trew on a sports bra and some leggings and headed to Ebony's (my youngest sister) room." hey I'm going running with you guys"

" okay sure go get Evangeline and we'll head out."she said lacing up her shoes.I walked to Eva's room and stood outside her room but before I could knock I heard whispering and...moaning?oh my gosh I better not disturb anything.walking back outside I saw Ebony waiting for me.

" hey where's Ev-"I cut her sentence short"id rather not disturb her right now."chuckling we shifted and started running trough the woods but soon enough I lost her.so now here I am running around trying to find her."Ebony!Ebony!where are you,hello?EBONY!"i stoped running and leaned against a tree catching my breath when I heard rustling.

" hello is someone there?ebony is that you?"I got no awnser just more rustling noises nd then quiet.a bit too quiet.."hello?is anyone there?"

I was about to start running again when I heard what sounded like footsteps. my pulse ramped up. It's nothing, i told herself, I'm imagining things.

But then there was a scratching sound once. Twice.

I froze-all my breath trapped. I was most definitely not alone. Someone was here with me. Except...it was definitely not Ebony she must've gone home already because it was getting late.

I started looking around the trees, straining to hear, but my heart pounded too loudly and my breathing was harsh..

Suddenly I heard a rustling noise behind me..

"Did you hear that too?"i jumped when I heard Ebony whisper in my ear. Only when I turned around it wasn't Ebony and I wasn't in the woods anymore.instead everything was black like I was in a dark abyss."hello Samsara...
