"Hello, you must be Jacqueline. Nice to meet you, I'm Genevieve. Welcome to the Fullertons' Home." Adam's mother, Genevieve exclaimed in a cheerful-enthusiastic manner. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Mrs. Fullerton."
"Oh please darling, call me Genevieve." She said sweetly in a British accent. Now Jacqueline knows where Adam got his polite manners and accents from. "Oh sorry, Genevieve." Jacqueline corrected as she shook hands with Genevieve. "My pleasure. Adam? Kiss for mommy after a long day at school?" Adam let out a groan as he clenched his teeth and gave her a quick peck on the cheek. "Thump, thump, thump" Jacqueline whipped her head towards the stairs. Her eyes climbed up the wooden stained stairs and her eyes met Adam's dad. "It's a pleasure to meet you sir." Jacqueline politely greeted him, "My name is Jacqueline."
"Well hello Jacqueline, my name is Newton." He says as he lightly kissed the top of Jacqueline's hand. She glanced at Adam as he nodded slightly, signaling to her to go along with it. She nodded back at him as a sign of reassurance.
As Jacqueline slowly pulled her hand away from Newton, she hears him say under his breath. "Charmed, I'm sure."
Jacqueline backs away from Newton and smiles sweetly at him. Adam breaks the silence by saying, "Well, now that everyone knows everyone, we should head upstairs to MY room, and start some homework." he says as he winks at Jacqueline. A smile crept onto Jacqueline's face as he linked his fingers with hers and guided Jacqueline to his room upstairs.
Jacqueline felt like she waltzed into a room full of Adam. Adam's scent filled the air in his room, his walls were a navy blue and his bed sheets were all black. His football, basketball and soccer jerseys hung over his bed on the wall. Jacqueline sat on his bed and said, "Come here, you." He went and sat next to her. They smiled and Adam spoke first. "Should we start on our homework?"
"In a few minutes."
Adam sat up, catching his breath. Jacqueline did too. "Thanks for that. Now, homework or balcony?"
"That's not even a question." Adam stood up, put his shirt back on, and picked up Jacqueline bridal style and carried her out to his balcony. They sat down and talked about what happened.
"I like when we do that."
"What? Kiss?"
"Duh. Why wouldn't I?
"Because," Adam started, "I wasn't exactly sure if you, you know, were pity-dating me."
"Why would you ever even think that?"
"Because it has happened to me in the past. To be exact, last year."
"You were in a fake relationship?"
"Whoa."
"What, what is it?"
"Turn around."
Jacqueline gasped as she slowly stood up and walked over to the railings of his balcony, lost in the beauty of the sunset.
"Follow me."
Adam led Jacqueline up a ladder to the roof, where a sky of pink, purple, orange, yellow and red with white clouds stood before them. Silhouettes of trees blocked the glares and flares of sunlight.
"It's beautiful."
"Not as beautiful as you though." Adam whispered into her ear and she could feel the warm breath blowing against her neck. She turned around so she could face him. He leaned down and gently kissed her forehead, then her neck. She kissed him back as her hands found their way into his hair, and his onto her neck. He pulled her closer while his hands were messing up her dirty blonde hair and hers messing up his jet black hair. When they pulled away, they looked into each other's eyes, then back at the sunset.
They went back to his room later on. As soon as they got in and Adam closed the doors, they ran towards each other. Adam picked up Jacqueline and lay her down on his bed.
