"WHY would you tell Tommy that he had to stop being friends with me? He is MY friend! NOT YOURS!"
"I'm sorry, but he was going to steal you from me! I HAD TO!"
"No, you chose to. Why are you trying to control my life? IT'S MY LIFE!"
"YEAH, I HEARD YOU!"
"You know what? My brother Dylan was right. Some guy from school played me. I don't believe it. I have enough problems on my plate already, but this added. I don't know if this can continue."
"This? As in, us? Why not?"
"I can't trust you anymore."
Jacqueline left and walked home, which took about 45 minutes. It gave her time to reflect about what just happened.
I should've never trusted him. Why the fudge did I trust him? Well because I'm stupid that's why. Was just playing me all the time? The whole, entire freaking time, it wasn't real? Duh, J of course it wasn't real you idiot, it lasted for a week. Thomas and Dylan were right. Especially Dylan, he was the one that had the whole idea that Adam was playing me in the first place. Jacqueline was interrupted by her thoughts when she got a text from Dylan.
Hey, it's getting late. You coming home?
Yeah, I'll be home in about 20 minutes.
K. See ya soon.
You too.
Jacqueline wanted to forget it. Forget him, his address, his face, his eyes, everything about him. Absolutely everything about him. Even his smile, his once sweet smile that hid all the lies behind it. Now she knew why all the girls weren't chasing after him, because he just uses them.
Jacqueline's face relaxed in a sad resting position until she reached home. Dylan was leaning against the kitchen counter and was drinking orange juice when she came home. Jacqueline immediately flopped onto the couch and buried her face into her hands, resting her elbows on her knees. Dylan cautiously walks towards Jacqueline with his eyebrows knitted in worry and confusion.
"Hey, what's wrong? What happened tonight?"
"I'm sorry, I just- How did you know Adam was playing me?" Jacqueline said in between sniffles.
"I could just tell. It didn't seem real, what you told Thomas. He did tell me what happened."
"Oh. That's fine then. I'm done with him. He lied to me all the time. But I still like him. I don't know what to do."
"Hey. Look at me. I'll call Thomas over."
"NO! Sorry. One thing that you must never tell Thomas is that I like him. And not just as friends. That's another reason why the relationship had to end."
Dylan sat down on the couch next to Jacqueline. He hugged her and she hugged him back, sobbing into his shoulder. "Shhh, it's okay. You'll be fine. Everything is okay."
"Really? Is everything okay? Where's mom and dad?"
"They haven't been home all day. Why?"
"Not last night either. You know what? I'm gonna go over to Tommy's to talk to him about this."
"Which this?"
"Mom and dad this. First, can we watch a bit of the news?"
"Sure. I love the news."
As soon as they turned on the T.V., a car crash was being shown. It was their parents cars! Both of them! Jacqueline grabbed her phone off the coffee table next to her. She started running over to Thomas' house but stopped halfway. She just froze, thinking about Adam, Thomas, her parents, and Dylan. But she couldn't choose who she wanted more between Thomas and Adam. Yes, Adam lied, but he was gorgeous, and helpful. Thomas on the other hand didn't lie, was gorgeous, but he was very sensitive. Sometimes a little too sensitive. She stood there for a few minutes thinking when she turned back towards her house and decided to tell Dylan everything.
