A New Mind

The beginning of a new mind
It happens to everyone.
Everything you knew as a child
Changes as you grow.

Religion can seem like everything
Then your mind expands.
It can seem less realistic,
And the mind thinks more practically.

Books become a challenge
Not only at home, but school as well.
The studies get harder, the reading gets more difficult.
The mind is fed, and growing, and it doesn't stop.

Your parents seem less right
And relationships get more difficult.
You want to love them
But you can't help but be curious.

Relationships grow
Friends become partners.
Some stay, some leave
But some are always there, through thick and thin.

The beginning of a new mind
It happens to everyone.
Everything you are learning,
And everything you will learn
Will open your mind and open doors
To things you never thought possible.
