Jamie and Eddie (a series of short,funny stories)

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I walked out to the squad car to find that Eddie was already in the car waiting for me. "Finally Reagan. I thought I was gonna die in here." She retorted. I smirked as I put the key in the car, then stopped myself. I looked over at her. "No Eminem today?" I asked. "Sadly no. I didn't have time to pick out a cd today." She answered and I turned the car on. To my relief, I wasn't blown away by the sound of the radio. 

She reached down in the floor and pulled up a bag. "What's that, janko?" I asked. "I was running behind and I didn't have time to do my makeup, not to mention that I have a date tonight, and I wanna look decent." She explained and I felt my jaw tighten when she told me she had a date. She opened the bag and started to do her make up. "You look beautiful without it." I said, not realising that I had actually said it.she looked over at me. "Thanks, Jamie." She smiled. 

It wasn't long before she pulled out nail polish. "Oh no janko. Not in here." I said. "It won't be that bad." She said and opened the bottle. The fumes filled the car in two seconds and I started coughing. "If it's that bad, roll down a window." She said. "It's forty degrees out!" I said like she was crazy. "Well, cough your head off, or be cold. One or the other, Reagan." She said and I rolled my eyes.

She checked her phone as we walked out of the precinct. "Aww. You gotta be kidding me!" She groaned. "What?" I asked. "Ryan, my date, just said that we can't go out to dinner, but I can come over to his place and we can 'have some fun'" she said. And I nearly puked at the thought of her having sex with someone other than me. "So just a booty call?" I asked, trying to hold in my lunch. "Yep." She said. "You wanna go to the bar?" I asked, hoping she would agree. "No, I'm tired." She sighed. "You can come over to my place and you can just sleep over, since we don't have work tomorrow." I suggested. "Sure Reagan." She and smiled.
