Jack's POV
We wake up bright eyed and bushy tailed. The bus is parked in the back so then we could help unload everything. Which is exactly what we're doing at this moment. I just have to help unload the instruments with Katy. Felix has to help with all the heavy equipment. I would feel bad, but he's really good at the thing he's supposed to be doing. So all power to him.
I follow Katy to the stage with the drums. She puts the guitars and the far right stage. While I just stand in the middle of the stage look out at the large arena full of empty seats. These will all be full of people who love music just as much as I do. Just the thought makes me giddy.
"Jack come help me," Katy calls.
I run over to her and help hang up the guitars. She looks at the sheet and at the guitars.
"Alright so they go in order by song list. Since they are all supposed to be tuned a certain way for a song."

"Doesn't sound too complicated."

"Not really as long as you know your colors and can read."
Katy and I start to put up the guitars. However in a few short minutes I have to stop since I hear someone call for me. Well, it was more like 'green boy'. I rush out onto the stage leaving Katy with the guitars. As soon as I'm out from backstage I'm met with four men and a woman with blonde hair.
"Daryn said that you're the drum guy correct?"

"That is correct."

"Okay, well this is Max. You'll be setting up drums and tuning them for him. Along with setting up Max's drums you and that girl back there will deal with microphones."

"Hello, pleasure to be working with you," Max says shaking my hand.

"Here's some tape to mark up where the microphones go," the manager states.
I nod and I'm now alone with the four guys. One of them stares intently at me and my face grows a bit pink. Thank god Katy comes to my rescue and takes the tape from me.
"Jack, go with Max and Mark. I'll talk John and Wade," she tells me handing me one of the things of duck tape.

"Okay, well Max we can't do a whole lot for you since they don't have your platform up yet. Mark, do you have a preference to where you want you microphone?"

"What? Oh...y-yeah just follow me," he says flustered.
He takes me to the front middle and puts his foot where he wants it. I rip off the tape and mark it with an 'X'. When I stand up I'm greeted with Hus deep brown eyes.
"If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask me," I state a bit shy.

"Thanks."
I then rush to backstage to unpack the drums. Max is already there on his phone playing around. However once he sees me he waves me over. Which is when I start to do my real job.
***
We all are rushing everywhere to get stuff setup for the show tonight. The band is warming up backstage while we all try not to fuck up. I make sure that Max's drums stay in place before running backstage. Which is where I get to finally get a break. As I lean on the wall drinking my bottled water I watch as the band laughs and talks. What I would kill to be back in my band. Playing drums for small gigs in pubs. Man that was a lot of fun. Too bad everyone kind of divided we could have made something big out of that.
As I have this little spiel in my head Mark's eyes wander onto me. We make eye contact for a split second until I divert my eyes away feeling my face redden. The head people backstage are calling out the number of minutes before it starts. The screams and chattering of the crowd gets louder by the second.
Before we know it Katy and I are dancing along to the band playing music. Since we don't have to do anything until something messes up with the instruments, we just have a good time. Which is all I could ever ask for at this moment.

Alright short chapter, but I figured that this was a good place to stop it.
