Chapter 6

At least today was Saturday, I've been feeling so down ever since I got the news about Gerard Way being my real dad and not wanting me, I really don't want to go to school. I've even been avoiding my mom. The only person I really want to talk to is Noel.

I walked over to our local Starbucks, hoping that maybe some coffee will help me feel better. I got out my phone and texted Noel to meet me. God it felt like I was waiting an eternity for her, but it was only an hour.

"Hey Abby, whats up?" Noel asked, sitting down with her cup of coffee.

"Well Noel, you were right. I really am related to Gerard Way." I said.

"Really? how'd you find out?" Noel question, sitting on the edge of her seat.

"In my English class, we were assigned a project to make a family tree and write a report about it and of course, we present it. Well I went in the attic, while my mom was at work, and I found a box full of family photos. Then I came across this." I explained and got the picture of Gerard and my mom from my Emily the Strange purse.

"Aww, Gerard looks so cute. So how is he related? Is he your cousin, uncle?"

"Try my dad." I cut her off.

Noel almost choked on her coffee. "Your dad? Gerard Way is your dad?" She asked.

"Yeah, can you not make such a big deal about it?" I said.

"How can you not? The guy is a rock star! You're practically rich. Why aren't you so happy about it?"

"Because Noel, he didn't want me. Gerard abandoned my mom when he found out that my mom was pregnant. He saw me as a mistake and left." I said, wanting to cry.

"What?! There's no way! Gerard would never do something as cruel as that. There has to be something else, we need his side of the story." Noel said.

"Are you crazy?" I asked. "How on earth am I going to get Gerard to talk to me? He's famous and live in California. Besides, he's never seen me, so it's not like he's going to recognize me."

"Yeah, that's would be weird seeing a strange girl show up at your house, clamping that she's your daughter." Noel concluded.

I gave her a weak smile. I finished the rest of my coffee and went home. I still had to finish my project.
