This weekend my parents want me to go camp out on Mako island. Mako is an island located a few miles away from gold coast where we live. It's a big island. In the middle a volcano is sleeping.

Now you might think why can she go to a deserted island? Well, my dad is a marine biologist and has to study the behaviour of certain sharks around the island. I just wanted to go there and explore the island some more.

Friday:

'Good morning class' our teacher Miss Cornwell began to talk. ' today we have a new student joining our class'. She made a gesture to the door. ' Mizuko just moved here from Japan' she said as the girl with small brown eyes and long black hair walked into the class. 'Just call me Mimi' she smiled. One thing I imediatly noticed about her was the koi fish print on the end of her top that looked cute with the matching cut- off jeans.

'Just take a seat next to Lori' she continued. The girl looked clueless so I waved at her. 'I'm Lori' I smiled at her. She reached for my hand and introduced herself. 'Now please be quiet' miss Cornwell cleared her troath and continued her lesson.

After class we could finally talk again. 'I really like your top!' I complimented her as we walked out of the classroom. 'Thank you' she smiled. 'Do you like fish?' I blurred out. 'Not really, do you?' She replied. 'No I hate it' I giggled. It was all I had left to say. I'm not good at making small talk.

After school was finished I walked home. Apparently Mimi had to go the same way as me. 'Have you ever gone to mako island?' She suddenly asked. 'I do' I replied. I had. In fact I'd been there a few times. 'I'd love to go there someday'
'I'm going there tonight' I told her. 'Alone?' She asked. 'No of course not. With my parents'. 'You could always join us' I joked. I never thought she would tag along, but she did. 'If my parents allow it' Mimi smiled. After Mimi gave me her number we said goodbye.

That evening Mimi came to our house. I introduced her to my parents and little sister Kiki. I packed my bag and together we went to the beach of mako island.

'We will camp here' my dad announced.
'Do you girls want to look for some fire wood?' He asked.
'Of course' Mimi smiled.
We left the safety of the beach and went into the forest. We kept walking until we came across a hole in the ground. Mimi walked closer to inspect it while I just stood there with the wood we already found.

'Mimi are you there?' I exclaimed. I didn't hear anything and decided to check it out myself. 'Lori!!' I heard Mimi's voice. She must have fell through the big gaping hole in the ground. 'Be careful!' She warned me. I could barely see anything and before I had realised it I joined her. The cold rocks touched my skin as I slide down. 'Are you okay?'she asked. 'I'm alright' I told her.

I used my hands to guide me through the cave. The cold rocks felt wet and hard. Mimi was close behind me. 'I can see a light!' I exclaimed. I let go of the walls and ran towards it. Now able to see my surroundings. The tunnel ended it a dead end. The only thing at the end was a big pool that seemed to be located in the volcano. If you looked up high you could see the moon that was fully visible now. 'It looks beautiful!' I noticed. Mimi agreed but also noticed that there was no way out of here. 'Unless..'she began. 'We have to swim!' She pointed at at the pool. 'What?' I asked. 'The level of the pool rises and falls. It must be conected to the ocean'. 'We could give it a try' I agreed.

Together we jumped into the pool. 'I Don't like this..' I said beforehand. 'Would you rather die here?!' She said rather serious.'No.. of course not' if I would have drowned that would be my last words..

I took one last look at the moon. It shone so bright it looked almost magical. Just like the big bubbles that popped up on the surface of the pool. 'This is weird' Mimi noticed. 'Let's get it over with' she said. I took a deep breath. I swam towards the exit. Hoping that the exit was nearby.

It was a miracle we made it. We had to swim about thirty meters until we could breathe again. 'What now?' I asked her. I grabbed her hand. It was dark ouside and we couldn't see anything.
