Lost

V.

Present, 2014 September 4th ⏳

EMMA

"I think you should see this" I said, as I hit the 'call' button. Kat was still looking through the window, ignoring me, lost in her own thoughts. I didn't mind, since I was put on hold. The beeping suddenly stopped and a familiar face appeared. She smiled seeing me and spoke:

"Hi." her voice made Kat look at me and then she quickly sat next to me. I turned to look at her and saw tears in her eyes, when she was able to say only one word:

"Amelia." Amelia smiled, I could see tears in her eyes too. A big smile spread on Kat's face as she laughed happily. Then we heard another voice:

"Who are you talking to, Amelia?" Iris walked into the room and saw us in the screen. Kat and I both waved and Iris just screamed. She ran out of the room and we could hear her shout at everybody: "It's Kat and Em!" then we both heard everybody run and in a moment we saw everyone's faces in the screen. Everyone, we missed so much.

"Luke." I said almost crying. He smiled and wiped his few tears. Nick laughed at him and said:

"Aww, Lukey misses his big sister!" we all laughed, since we knew how much Luke hated to be called Lukey. I just rolled my eyes at Nick and asked only one question that mattered to me, looking at Luke:

"Are you ok?" his smile suddenly dropped. He knew what I was talking about. Luke suddenly forced a smile and answered:

"I'm fine." even through the screen I could see his eyes and I knew he was lying. He turned away and others started talking.

"Teddy Bear, report to us how is it there?" Tedd laughed and made a salute sign.

"Aye Captain! Everybody wants to abort the mission!" we all laughed, but Tedd stayed calm and serious. We laughed even more. When I finally could speak, I said:

"Good soldier." he only nodded and we continued on our conversations with each other and together.

"So how is it there actually?" Kat asked laughing a little bit and they all started telling their stories. We both laughed at them and then tried to understand what they were talking since they were trying to be louder than other. After about two hours or more, Kat said: "We miss you, guys." They all said the same thing back, Iris and Gloria even letting few tears go. We all then decided to hang up, since it was pretty late there and even here it was getting dark.

"Bye cupcake!" I heard Oliver say before the screen went blank. And just like that, they were gone again. I thought this call will make me feel better, but it just made everything worse. I realized just how much I miss their silliness, their laughs, jokes, everything. They were my friend. We are all supposed to stay together. We were friends for so long, it hurts that they were really far away. And Luke wasn't okay. It just made things worse. Kat hugged me, holding me close to her.

"We will be okay. Just few months." she said. And I believed her. Just few months. That's it. We will see them soon.

Just few months.

"I should probably go." Kat said and stood up. It was kinda late and I was almost falling asleep. She smiled, as I sat down on my bed. "Thank you." she suddenly said.

"For what?" I asked, as I was turning off my computer since we were watching tv shows for past three hours. I closed it and looked up at her.

"For the call." her smile dropped. I smiled back and stood up, hugging her. Kat let out a sigh and I pulled away, keeping my hands on her waist. Small smile crept on her face.

"It's not a big deal." I said and hugged her again. Then she pulled away and took her bag. She was here since when we got back from school.

"See you tomorrow!" Kat said when she ran downstairs. My mom closed the door, as I went to read a book. I was getting sleepy and all I could think about was my friends, so I put the book away and decided to take a shower. I never liked cold showers, but I knew it will clear my head, so I let cold water run down my whole body.

I was wrong when I thought that cold shower will make me feel better. It did feel refreshing, but now I was worried more than ever. All I could think was about Luke and his look when I asked if he was ok. He didn't look ok. I knew something was up. I just wish I was there with him.

Finally, I washed my face, brushed my teeth and changed into my pajamas. Feeling fresh and clean, I walked to my bed and left only one lamp on. I turned to my window, looking at the stars that started to appear. Slowly, I closed my eyes, as if the stars made me calmer. And I had the best sleep. It was calm, no dreams at all. I've had this kind of sleep a long time ago. Even though it was calm, I kept hearing one word. One name.

Gemma.

Little filler chapter for upcoming chapters. I tried to bring everybody into the chat from the gang and I did it! Ten points for Gryffindor!!! ;) [Yes, indeed I am Gryffindor. Or maybe Hufflepuff?]

Any theories? Why Emma is so worried? Why she thinks Luke isn't ok? Who is Luke to her? Who is Gemma?
