chapter nine

I woke up in the middle of the night with a really bad headache. I got up and walked to the kitchen to get some pain medicine. Once I had taken the medicine, I looked over to see Joey awake on his phone and laying on the couch.

"What are you doing up?" Joey asked.

"I had a headache." I told him. I walked over to him and he smiled at me. "What's your reason?"

"Can't sleep." He said.

"Come sleep in my room." I told him.

"Will your mom care?" He asked.

"Probably not." I laughed. Joey got up and followed me to my room. He layed down in my bed and I layed next to him. I layed my head on his chest and my leg over his. He put his arm around me and lightly rubbed my side.

"Goodnight, Joey." I said.

"Goodnight, beautiful." He said. I smiled when he said that. No one has ever said something like that to me.

I woke up and I was still in Joey's arms. He was still asleep and breathing steadily. I just layed there and cuddled him until he woke up. Once he did, he kissed my head gently.

"Good morning." He said.

"Morning." I smiled. I layed my head back on his chest and he played with my hair. Then, the door opened and there was Tayler.

"Have you seen Jo- nevermind." Tayler said. I sat up and so did Joey.

"You two didn't-" Tayler started.

"God no, I'm fourteen." I said.

"So was I." Tayler smirked. I thought about what he said, and then cringed. Me and Joey crawled out of bed and I went to the bathroom to get ready. I washed my face, brushed my teeth and hair, and put on some mascara. Then, I went into the kitchen and sat next to Tayler at the bar.

"'Morning sweetie." My mom said.

"Morning." I replied. Then, Joey came in the kitchen and hugged me from behind as I sat in my seat. The chairs don't have backs on them, so he could do that. He rested his chin on my shoulder. I took his phone and opened his snapchat to take a picture. I smiled and took the picture then gave Joey his phone back. He saved the picture and posted it on his story.

"You two are adorable." My mom smiled.

"It's gross." Tayler laughed. Joey kissed my cheek and then let go of me to go sit on the other side of Tayler.

"Well what are you guys doing today?" My mom asked.

"Me and Joey are meeting Cody at the mall and we're doing a meet up." Tayler said. I was a little upset that I couldn't hang out with Joey today, but I'll be okay.

"What about you, Kaylee?" My mom asked. She had a weird tone in her voice as if she knew something I didn't. But then there was a knock on the door. I got up to open it and when I did, there he was.

"Blake!" I screamed. I jumped into his arms and he spun me around. He put me down and I couldn't believe my eyes.

"Hey." Blake smiled.

"I can't believe you're here!" I said, tears of joy forming in my eyes.

"Believe it." He said. I hugged him again and I felt him laugh.

"How long are you staying?" I asked.

"Just two days." Blake sighed. It's okay though. We'll just have to make the most out of it.

"Well, it's better than nothing." I smiled. I turned around and Joey was looking at me confused. I forgot he didn't know about Blake.

"Joey, this is my best friend Blake. Blake, this is Joey, my boyfriend." I said. Joey's face lit up when I said that. But on the other hand, Blake's didn't.

"What's up." Joey said.

"Hey." Blake replied. "Kaylee, can we talk? In private." Blake asked me. I nodded and we went to my room.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a boyfriend?" Blake asked.

"I don't know." I said.

"Kaylee, did that kiss mean nothing to you?" He asked.

"Blake, I don't know. I don't have feelings like that for you. You're my best friend and I'm not gonna let a kiss ruin that. Joey makes me happy, and if you care about me then you'll accept the fact that I'm happy." I told him.

"Okay. I'm sorry. But I swear to God, if he hurts you I'm gonna beat his fucking ass." Blake said.

"Okay, gotcha." I laughed. I pulled Blake into a hug and he held my tightly. I hope these two days go well. And I hope him and Joey get along.
