"Mandi!" My dad shouted from the kitchen. "I'm  coming dad, just a minute." I hollered back. I muttered under my breath wanting to start the so-called-"Quest" about the mysteries linked to the house. I cruised down the steps and skidded to a stop in the kitchen. My dad was sitting at the island with my brother and my sister. I took a seat next to Monica who was browsing through her magazine which was titled The Magic of Math. I refrained from gagging. Rolling my eyes so Monica would see. "
Well Mandi how is it?" Dad asked directing his attention towards me. "Really big, I say pointing out the obvious, and I get lost very easily." Dad sighed. "Besides all that Mandi, are you proud to call this your new home?" I slowly started to nod my head. "Good." Dad replied with a pleased smile on his face. "Oh and by the way you kids will start school tomorrow." Dad added. "WHAT?" Me and Matt yelled at the same time. It was different reasonings though. "Dad I need to clean my room, I can't go to school tomorrow!" Matt exclaimed. "And I need to practice for my track meet and my swim meet coming up" I said. "Well those things will need to wait then I guess." Dad replied. "Now I need to go call Amy. Amy was dad's supermodel girlfriend. She hates all of us kids, especially Monica, who she calls "a nerd on steroids." Dad says we should "get to know her better" but we all now he's lying to us. I was hungry, I mean really hungry like if you don't eat something you will literally pass out. I stuck my head in the fridge and found a  new jar of jelly I grabbed it and started making myself a sandwich. I turned to see a message on the fridge that wasn't there before I went in it. It read: You need to start looking for clues, your ability to do sports will be the first thing you may lose. I read the note over and over again. How dare they take away my athletic ability! I shoved the note in my pocket, and dashed down the hall into the closest room I could find. I quickly slammed the door shut and locked it. My heart was beating out of my chest. Large beads of sweat covered my face. I walked to center of the room finding something peculiar, this room had a very strange Greek theme. The room was filled with many white pillars, statues of I think they were gods or something, and lots and lots of paintings. The whole room had many plasters with paintings on the walls, the ceiling, anywhere there was something bare space, you would find a random painting. I had studied Greek mythology at school before along with reading the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I approached the biggest painting in the room, a picture of Mount Olympus on a stormy day. It looked awesome! I stepped closer to that wall, from my angle it seemed as though the painting was somehow moving. I could hear the defining rumble of thunder mixed with the large crackles of lightening. I reached out to touch the painting. I shock went through my body. I screamed and flew backwards. I took a deep breath. I approached the painting once again. KA-BOOM!! Must have been Zeus master lightning bolt! Then I heard a loud voice shout to me " AND JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? I  shivered in fear and mumbled "I'm sorry I just..." The voice shouted back "YOU JUST WHAT?, HUH?" I couldn't feel my legs I was shaking so bad. "Please sir I..." The voice boomed "THIS IS NONSENSE! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I DO TO INTRUDERS?? I choked out "No..." The voice cackled evilly, "THEN I GUESS YOU GET TO TO
EXPERIENCE IT THEN, LUCKY YOU!!! HAHAHAHA" Suddenly I felt paralyzed I couldn't move, I couldn't think, and the world around me went black.
