(Parker's P.O.V.)
"Hey! Parker!"
I heard that voice that I've loved since the eighth grade and whipped my head around.
"Hi baby! I missed you!"
As soon as I saw her, my smile grew wider and wider by the second. She ran up to me and I held her in my arms. I haven't seen her in a week, she was at her grandparents house for Thanksgiving and stayed there to spend some time with them. I squeezed her tight and planted a soft kiss on the top of her head. She buried her head into my chest and I chuckled, she's so small compared to my 5"11 self.
"Hi Cassie! How are you? I missed you too!" I wish we had classes together, but sadly we don't.
"I'm really good. Thanksgiving was so much fun with my grandparents. I'm so glad I got to see them, it's been a while since I saw them last."
Something that Cassie and I have in common is that we've always been super close to our families. Cassie glanced towards the car line and looked for her mom coming to pick her up. At the same time I felt a buzz in my back pocket and I took out my phone. I read:
1 missed call and voicemail: Mom
I rolled my eyes and shook my head before I realized that it was too late. Cassie was looking at me with a confused face.
"What's wrong bear?"
I love it when she calls me bear. There's no story behind it, she's just been calling me bear since we started dating.
"It's just- it's nothing Cas. Don't worry about it."
But I knew it was something. Over Thanksgiving break a couple friends and I wanted to go out for lunch one day but mom said I couldn't. I snuck out, but I got in trouble and mom and I got in a huge fight. I knew this missed call was my mom ratting me out again for what I did.
"Okay Parker, whatever you say. My mom is here but we're still going to the movies tomorrow night, right?" Cassie replied with a suspicious tone.
"Of course we are! I'll see you tomorrow, I love you!" I wanted to make sure that she believed me because I don't want her to be worrying about me.
"I love you too!"
I glanced around not seeing my dad anywhere, so I just walked home. It wasn't a far walk and the weather was decent today. When I arrived home, no one was to be found anywhere in the house.
