That First Date

 Athena was standing near her throne thinking those crazy thoughts that have been bordering her for ages already. And then, of all things, that happens. That official life-ruining thing... Actually two things.

Horrid thing number one: she kissed Poseidon. Thing number two... It bordered her even more. It was the fact that she, Athena, goddess of wisdom was falling for that bunch of floating kelp.( a.k.a. Poseidon)

She started panicking again, willing herself to teleport her to a place she could think. Naturally, it was the sea. Why ,though, why the sea? Oh, she answered herself immediately, because of Poseidon... That was so much worse than the fact that she used to have a crush on Apollo. At least she and Apollo were fine with each other, but she and Poseidon? Total opposite. And then there was this saying that messed up her life even more "  Opposites attract..." That was not happening. Never. But that science theory that magnets' opposites literally attract. She couldn't ignore that.

And speaking of magnets, since when were she and Poseidon magnets? That she seriously wasn't sure about.

She felt the gentle breeze of the beach and the smell of fish, but not rotting fish, fresh fish. That presence behind her put his arms around her.

" Poseidon?"

" Yea?"

" What are you DOING...?! Oh.. You're trying to date me again, right?"

" What made you-"

" Guess that? I just did."

"Okay..."

Poseidon and  Athena sat in the shelter of a huge Palm tree. Poseidon had his hand around Athena and was swaying slightly to the sea breeze. Athena leaned her head on Poseidon' s shoulder. The duo watched silently yet calmly as the sun faded below the horizon.

That moment was perfect. For a first date. That peaceful environment reminded them of their happiest days together.

But of course, peace never lasted for the gods...
