Dorothy POV
Back in Kanas, Dorothy stood on her porch looking out into the great unknown, the wind blowing lightly through her chocolate brown hair. The wind chimes gave a slight ding as the wind flowed through them. Dorothy went inside when her aunt called her in.
"Hey Aunt Em can I make dinner" Dorothy asked as she entered through the screen door.
"The last time you made dinner-"
"I know I know, but I really didn't mean to poison Uncle," Dorothy defended.
"Why don't you take Toto out for a walk and I'll call you in when dinner's ready.
Dorothy turned around to grab the dilapidated leash to put on Toto. Toto was a small dog, he was very old and tried almost all of the time, and Toto was in the same condition as the leash. Since he hasn't died yet Dorothy is confident that he will not pass any time soon.
"Here we go," Dorothy said as she shoved the leash hook on to the collar.
"Woof," Toto responded.
"I know Toto, you hate the collar but after the fiasco with the cat in, well you know where, I can't have you wandering around like a mangy mutt."
"Grrrrrrr."
"Toto, all of that growling your doing is turning you gray!" Dorothy exclaimed jokingly.
However Toto was not laughing, even though he is a dog he's still very sensitive about age and those kinds of things.
Dorothy and Toto walked out to the endless sea of grassy plains. Dorothy was rather bored with this walk into the sea of green. She stopped and Toto pulled against the leash to keep going. The sun was starting to set and the reddish hues trimmed the skyline. Dorothy let go of the leash and lay down on the soft grass. Toto curled up beside her.
"You know Toto once in a while, I really do miss Oz, I wonder how they're doing," Dorothy just lay there.
The grass started to whisper secrets to the flowers. She could hear the owls getting ready to go get an early evening snack. A dandelion tickled Dorothy lightly on the cheek. She knew that this was her life, but yet, something was missing, the days were longer, the nights were distant, and people just lost hope the glow of Kansas was slowly but surely going out. At least Toto was still the same, older, but bright in his own way. Dorothy got up, and then the wind picked up. Dorothy turned only to see a tornado, a dark tornado, sucking up anything that dared to get in its way. Dorothy stood frozen with fear. Luckily she had Toto's leash in hand. Toto tugged with all of his might at the leash o get Dorothy to move. Dorothy took one step back scooped up Toto and ran as fast as she possibly could. As she ran the fences flew into the air, trees were uprooted, and houses were sucked into the mysterious vortex of dust and air. Then eventually the tornado took her and Toto up into the air and sucked them away from Kansas.
