Excuse any mistakes, enjoy.
Me and Kehlani were in the cafe getting something to eat since we were done with classes for the day. I was honestly tired and on edge since what had happened a few nights ago.
We settled for some wings and fries and sat in the window which was facing 10th street and traffic was crazy as usual.
"How was class?" I asked while eating a fry.
"It was alright, I only had two and they flew by. Yours?"
"Pretty cool, but one of my professors decided to have a whole ass lesson, I was so mad." She said rolling her eyes making me laugh.
"Those are the worst. I can't wait to go to sleep." I said I said moving food around my plate.
"You sleep way too much girl, I gotta get us in a Zumba class."
"Sleep is my therapy. I can't take those pills, I can't."
"I understand, speaking of which, you said you'd tell me more about what happened the other night." She said now turning toward me.
"I did, well we have time, might as well." I said laughing a little.
"Stay with me alright? Don't dance on none of these niggas either." My brother said as we stood on the opposite end of the party's front door.
"Okay okay." I said annoyed already.
He opened the door and immediately the smell of weed and sweat hit my nose. It was hot as hell and people packed the hall, up the stairs and the kitchen.
One of Jace's friends was having a party and after I begged and begged he let me come too. I didn't party that much and barely had friends so I wanted to see what the hype was about.
"Here." He said handing me a cup.
"Is this liquor?" I asked almost whispering because I was shocked.
"No nigga, I'm not stupid. It's just juice." Jace replied leaning on the kitchen counter.
"Oh, good." I said secretly disappointed.
The party was pretty lit and didn't look like it was calming down any time soon. I was getting kinda bored and as I glanced around the room I saw Shea making her way over to us.
"Hey Anila, hey Jace." She smiled looking at me then staring at him.
"Hey." I replied.
"Wassup?"
I tuned them out as I listened to what was playing. None of this was music I listened to but everybody else seemed to like it.
"I gotta go pee." I told Jace before leaving and heading toward the front of the house.
I went in and peed, washed my hands and looked myself over in the mirror. I was wearing a simple white crop tank top, high waisted jeans and my tan sandals. Something simple, as usual.
