"How about this one?" Kelsey asked, holding up a very short black dress. We'd been shopping for almost an hour now, and were still empty-handed. I didn't understand fashion and either didn't like most of the things I saw, or Amanda and Kelsey would reject my suggestions, claiming I had horrible taste. Overall, it was a recipe for torture."I hope you're kidding," I told her bluntly. "It looks more like a shirt than a dress."
"I agree," Amanda nodded, which proved just how short the dress was. Amanda never wore dresses that went below the knees. "How about this one?" she asked, showing me a simple white dress. I was about to agree as she held it in front of me when she put it back on the rack. "Nevermind," she muttered, then looked over her shoulder to Kelsey, who was rumaging through another rack of dresses. "No pale colors. White is definitely a no-no."
Okay, so white wasn't my color. Great. Now I only needed to learn how to define if a color was for someone or not. Fashion obviously wasn't my thing.
"How do you guys even do this?" I asked them as Kelsey held a pale pink dress infront of me and shook her head.
"You're right," she told Amanda. "No pale colors."
"It's pretty easy," Amanda told me. "You hold up a piece of clothing of a certain color infront of the person or you make them wear the clothes. Then you see if it goes with their skin tone, hair color, etc."
"And how do you do that?"
Amanda and Kelsey both looked at me as if I was their greatest disappointment.
"You have eyes, don't you?" Amanda asked me. "Use them."
"I think I found something," Kelsey said as I rolled my eyes at Amanda's comment. She held up a dark blue dress with spaghetti straps infront of me and looked at Amanda, who nodded in approval. "Go try it on," Kelsey urged, handing me the dress before pushing me toward the dressing rooms.
I tried on the dress and looked at myself in the mirror. The darkness of the dress definitely made my pale blond hair and dark blue eyes stand out in a way I'd never thought possible. The dress wasn't tight enough to make me feel self-conscious, which was a plus.
Note to self: Always trust Kelsey and Amanda when it comes to fashion.
"So?" Amanda asked from the other side of the door. "Come out, we want to see how it looks!"
With a sigh, I unlocked the door and stepped out. My two friends immediately grinned. "You look great!" Kelsey exclaimed.
"Dark blue is definitely your color," Amanda affirmed, and for once, I felt like I knew what she meant. "Now, go change, we only have half an hour to get you shoes and accessories!"

"Thank you," I told Logan as soon as I answered his Skype call.
"What?" he raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Are you talking to me?"
"Yes!" I groaned. "Thanks to you, I've had to go through an hour and a half of vicious shopping."
"Vicious shopping?" he repeated, chuckling. "I didn't know that was a thing."
"Then you haven't met Amanda," I told him. Kelsey usually wasn't such a vicious shopper, but pair her up with Amanda and they could spend a whole day at the mall without stopping once other than to eat and use the restroom.
"What'd you go shopping for?" he asked before taking a bite of his hamburger.
"I made the mistake of telling Amanda I had a date and she insisted I wore a dress."
