Viktor insisted on walking Hermione to the Common Room. When they reached the Fat Lady, Viktor bade her goodnight. She wrapped him in another hug. He gave her the best hugs.

"Thank you again." She said, squeezing his shoulder. "For everything." Viktor smiled at her.

"Anytime. Whenever you need something, or someone, for that matter, come find me. I'll always be there for you, Hermione." He scuffed down the empty hallway, before turning back around and waving. Hermione giggled and waved back.

"Ahhh...Young love!" said The Fat Lady. "I remember the first time I was in love."

"Oh, no! He's just a friend!" Hermione said, blushing.

"Really? Well, you might want to tell him that, darling, given the way he looks at you..."

Hermione quickly gave her the password, wanting to escape the awkward encounter. She climbed through the portrait hole, into the Common Room. From what she could see, it was empty, other than Ginny, who sat near the fire, doing homework. Ginny waved her over.

"Hey, stranger!" She said, as Hermione dropped down beside her. "Haven't seen you in a few days."

"I know, I'm sorry, Ginny. I was meaning to talk to you about, you know, before Ron got in your ear and-"

"Oh, for goodness sake, Hermione! You think I would take my brother's word over yours? I know you aren't that stupid!" Ginny exclaimed, snapping her book closed and laying it on the table in front of them. Hermione sighed in relief. "Don't worry, Harry filled me in on your story."

"Thanks, Ginny. So, did you know he's back with Lavender now?" Ginny's forehead scrunched up.

"WHAT?!"

"I was walking through the halls earlier, and I saw them together." Hermione swallowed the misery that invaded her system.

"Well, that doesn't mean that they're back together!"

"They kissed, Ginny." Ginny hugged her friend, and rubbed her back in comfort.

"I'm so sorry, Hermione. If I had known he would jump on her again... I'll beat the shit out of him if it'll make you feel better..." Hermione chuckled, and tucked her legs under her.

"You know, maybe seeing them together was a good thing. I mean, it really hurt at first, but it almost gave me a sense of closure. Like, I don't need to be hung up on him anymore, now that I know he's moved on. And after getting comfort from you, Harry, and Viktor, I don't feel as-"

"Woah, woah, woah!" Ginny said, holding her hand up to silence Hermione. "Me, Harry, and Viktor? Hermione, I thought you were going to stay away from him!"

"He's my friend! He helped me through all this today. I'm so grateful to him. Plus, that was when Ron wanted me to, and I clearly don't have to worry about keeping him happy now..." Ginny rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, but don't forget he was the one who messed up your relationship in the first place." Ginny said, glaring. Hermione felt hurt at her best friend's words.

"It wasn't his fault! He didn't do anything!"

"He would've eventually! You can't trust him, Hermione. All he is, is bad news." Hermione scoffed, and got up.

"Whatever, Ginny. I thought you, as my best friend, would understand my friendship with him. But clearly I was wrong."

"Wake up, Hermione! He doesn't want a friendship! All he wants is to make himself feel better, by using you again!" Ginny immediately clapped her hand over her mouth. Hermione stood silent, mouth hanging open. Ginny looked as if she were about to burst into tears.
