There's a storm here in my country currently, so it wasn't much of a surprise when I woke up to a heavy flow of rain. I yawned and checked my phone to see the time: 5:07 am. Oh yay. I woke up earlier than I have to (i am sarcastic if you didn't catch that). I yawned once again and went back to sleep for another hour. I woke up again at around 6 am.

I went downstairs still wearing my sweater and PJ's. I went outside to greet Toby. Yeah, we got a dog and his name is Tobias aka Toby for short. Played with him for a while until I decided that I wanted to be a good daughter and make my family some breakfast.

First of all, I set the table, so that was over with. Next, I laid out all the ingredients I would need t make pancakes. I turned the stove on and put the pan over the fire. You know the drill. Butter on the pan, spread it, blah blah blah. This is not a cooking book.

So, when I was done with the pancakes, I made some coffee for myself and mentally patted myself on the back for being a nice person. Just for this day, though. Once the day ends, my horns will grow back. They just had a temporary vacation.

I sipped the finished coffee and gagged. I added more sugar for flavor. I sighed. Much better.

I texted my family's group chat and said, "TIME FOR BREAKFAST!" I also added a smiley face with a halo because why not?

My brother and my mom seen-ed (just to clarify, i know that the past tense is 'saw' but in the case of messenger, it is not so let me be) it and they went down 2 mins later. My father went to the store and my sister is a lazy bum and she was still sleeping. Oh, right, this was at 7:30 so I'll let her slide.

"Morning, Ma and bro!" I smiled at them once they arrived. "Welcome to Breakfast Vermillion! Where the pancakes are the best!" I laughed jokingly and my mom did too while my brother just rolled his eyes and went to sit in the dining room.

"Kate! Where are the forks?!" James Vermillion, my bro, yelled from the dining room. I chuckled, realizing that I forgot to put the utensils. "Sorry! It's coming!" I yelled back. I turned around to get the missing utensils.

"You made pancakes for us?" I heard my mom ask from behind me. "Yeah, I did. You're welcome."

I didn't hear a reply back so I guessed she was at the dining room.

I went there too, distributing the forks to their proper designations.

When I sat down, my mom was glaring at me. "Did  forget something else?" I asked in confusion. There were place mats, utensils, glasses, and the plates. What was I missing?

Mother motioned to the cup of coffee in my place. Ah. Now I get it. It wasn't what I was missing. It was what I was having.

"It's delicious," I said in a joking-mock manner while taking a sip. "Kate, you're too young for coffee," she said in a 'you-are-wrong-and-i-am-right-so-shut-up' voice.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes at her statement. I put down the cup and looked at her, "Mom, I'm 13 years old."

She made a face back and took a bite of the pancake on her plate, "You're still a baby to me." With that, the conversation was over.

It was still raining pretty hard outside when I finished breakfast so I didn't bother changing my PJ's because it was still too cold.

I walked to the back and put the hood on my jacket over my head, so I won't be rained on. Yeah, I was going out, BECAUSE it's raining. Also because it is fun.

After that, the rest of the day was absolutely boring since I didn't do nything instead of be lazy and eat chips. So. Okay. Bye...?
