*beeb beeb beeb* the repetitive screams of the alarm clock woke me to the start of another odd day. 6 o'clock. I slammed my fist down to try hit the alarm clock only to miss and smash my hand into the side table that it stood on. It continued to mock me as I craddled my sore hand, this infuriated me immensely so I threw it across the room into the crimson coloured wall and it bounced off it. It stopped and I sighed only for it to start back up again, it was laughing at me I was sure of it. I ripped off the sheets and walked across the room until I stood infront of it. It lay facing me and had a crack in the glass but it still kept screeching. I pulled my knee all the way to my chest and slammed my foot onto it with all my force. The glass was now completely smashed and the big hand had broken off. I smiled triumphantly in the blessed silence and turned to walk off until I heard it again. *beeb beeb beeb*. Fuck this alarm clock. I picked it up in my hand and carefully bought it to my bedroom window. I was on the third floor. It had a lovely view, the sun was still rising over the horizon, the birds sang and the smell of wet grass in the morning was present. I opened the window to its full hight, I inhaled the air, closed my eyes and ditched this fucking clock into the morning sky as far as I could. It landed on the neatly kept grass, only a red speck, but not even the birds could block out the noise. I sighed and closed the window.

I opened my wardrobe door and pulled out the school uniforn uniform I was expected to wear. A dark green jacked with a matching skirt hung nicely next to the plain white button up shirt. I reluctantly put them on and did up the matching dark green tie. I stared at the mirror, my reflection stared back. I looked like privileged white trash who's father was a lawyer. I undid the tie a bit and rolled the jacket to my elbows. There, now I look better. I smiled at myself and walked down for breakfast.
Breakfast was already prepared when I walked into the dinning room. A maid stood at attention in the corner of the room waiting for an order. The food looked marvellous, waffles, eggs, bacon, fruit, cerial, and anything else you could think of. War sat at the head of the table reading a newspaper with reading glasses and a glass of orange juice in hand. I didnt realise horsemen had such bad eyesight. I sat on the furthest seat from him and started shoveling food onto the plate oor sometimes just staight into my mouth. War looked up at me and folded his newspaper before taking his glasses off and placing them onto the table.
"Well good morning, why are you sitting all the way over there?" I shrugged and kept eating. He may be my biological father but he was the furthest from it in my eyes. I don think I could ever forgive him for not being there for me or mum, we'd gone through hell and back together but where was he? He might be a horseman and be completely rich and powerful but that was no excuse. And I can hold a grudge.
"Well todays your first day at your new school, are you excited?"
I felt bad for the guy, he was trying his best after all so I tried to be a bit friendlier.
"Yeah I guess I am, you did say it was a good school after all"
He seemed to lighten up a bit and smiled before going back to his paper. I finished my breakfast and got up.
"Wait before you go Mia" he said pulling something out of his jacket "do you know anything thing about this?"
He heldup the smashed alarm clock, its frame twisted and bent. I gulped and smiled as sweetly as I could.
"Nope, nothing" I skipped out of the room as fast as I could.
"Your ride will be here soon, just wait for Leo outside" he shouted after me.

I heard him before I saw him. The faint sound of music creeped closer towards me. I stood up to see a black 67 chevolett impala speeding down the driveway. It skidded to a halt infront of me, inches away from hitting me and the passenger door swung open. The windows were tinted so I couldn't see the driver. I walked around to the door to find the biggest frat boy in existence staring back at me. His brown hair was sweeped back and he wore ray bands with a toothpick in his mouth. His jawline was almost sharp enough to stab someone with and his ego nearly blocked out the speakers. He looked me up and down and snickered.
"Get in" he said smirking.
I jumped in the car and closed the door. He turned to look at me, studying me like I was a rare animal he had never seen before. He raised his fist and motioned for me to knuckles him. I reluctantly went to knuckles him until he pulled back about an inch away from my hand.
"Rule number 1: Don't touch me" he said bluntly and turned back to the steering wheel. He reversed back out of the driveway and swirved, hitting a small bush on his way out.
He drove like a maniac, skidded around corners and ran red lights. We didnt talk at all, just letting the blaring music fill the silence. He turned the radio down.
"So you're supposed to be uncle War's kid huh, you're a bit scrawny aren't you?"
"Well" he cut me off before I could finish.
"My names Leo, I'm Death's kid. I'll be doing my senior year next year so better envy your time with me. I'll be out of here as soon as im 18. I rules that you need to follow. Rule number 1:Don't tuch me. Rule number 2: don't mess up my car. Rule number 3:you are not to speak to me unless spoken to" he continued to go on like this for a few minutes.
"Rule number 23:don't talk to me at school, don't even look at me in school. I have a reputation to uphold you know."
This guy might be the most self centered person I had ever met. He continued but I stopped listening. I just stared out the window and watched the buildings fly past.

We arrived late to school. Or as Leo had called it 'fashionably on time'. He walked me to the office and left me there by myself.
"Wait where do I go after school?" i shouted after him but he was already gone. I turned to the old woman sitting behind the front desk. She had reading glasses sitting on the bridge of her nose, she was writing something down. I stood there for a little while but she didn't acknowledge me, she either hadn't seen me or had seen me and decided to leave me there. I'd had enough and approached the desk.
"Um hi I'm new here, was I supposed to see someone or...?"
She looked up at me now, she studied me and gave a disgusted look at me before fixing her glasses. She started to write again.
"The principal is through that door" she simply said and pointed to a door to the left. I nodded and mumbled a thank you before walking to the door and stopped just infront of it. I sighed and gave a few sharp knocks and waited for a reply.
A course males voice responded "come in".
