Flamefur padded out of the Fire Clan camp and headed deep into the forest. The ginger she-cat almost immediately spotted a mouse. She crouched and slowly moved towards it. The mouse didn't seem to notice her. As she prepared to leap something happened.
A chill ran through her spine and it was as if time had froze. Flamefur tried to breathe but she felt like a stone was crushing her chest. She squeezed her eyes shut hoping that the pain would end. Flamefur heard screams of pain and she saw brief images of dead cats.
No! What's going on? What is this? What's wrong with me?
Questions like these spun through her head until it finally ended.
Flamefur gasped for breath, her heart beat rapidly. She looked around and realized that she was still crouched and the mouse still munched on a long piece of grass. She quickly caught the mouse and began to walk back to camp.
I need to talk to someone about this! I'll speak to Owlstar first.

Flamefur approached Owlstar's den and she paused at the entrance. "May I come in?" Flamefur called through the entrance.
"Of course!" Came Owlstar's response.
"What can I do for you, Flamefur?" The dark brown tom asked.
"So, I uh- well you probably won't believe me but I feel like it would be worth a shot. Um, so I think I had a sort of... Vision," Flamefur said with uncertainty. Owlstar's amber eyes revealed nothing so Flamefur pushed on, "I saw a battle! Many dead and injured cats from both our clan and Water Clan! I think it's a sign! Please, I know this must seem impossible but you must believe me! For the sake of our clan, but not only our clan. Both us and Water Clan depend on this vision for survival! I just know it!" Flamefur explained.
Owlstar had a skeptical look on his face. "I don't need a young warrior rambling on about her nightmares!"
"No! You don't understand! It wasn't a dream! It was a vision!"
"Leave the visions and dreams to the medicine cats," Owlstar snapped. Flamefur stood up and left without a word.
If he won't understand then who will? I'll speak to my sister! She'll have to believe me!

Flamefur peeked into the medicine cat den. "Cherrywhisker?" Flamefur called.
"Come in, come in!" Cherrywhisker meowed happily.
The white she-cat was hunched over some herbs and her orange paws moved different leaves to and fro. "Don't tell me you've fallen ill because I'm already out of tansy for the second time this moon!"
"I haven't. I think I had a vision and I told Owlstar but he thought I was being over-dramatic about a nightmare!"
The medicine cat stopped organizing then spun around. "Tell me every last detail."
***
"I believe you." Cherrywhisker meowed.
"Thank Star Clan you do! Maybe Owlstar will listen to us now!" Flamefur purred hopefully.
***
"You need to believe my sister!" Cherrywhisker snarled to Owlstar.
"Great! I guess insanity runs in the family! Flamefur you've turned my medicine cat into kit who believes in the elders' tales!" Owlstar snapped back.
"No, I haven't!" Flamefur cried. "This is serious business-I would never joke about something like this!"
"Bluefire! Get these kits out of my den!" Owlstar yelled to the deputy who was sitting outside the den.
"Come on guys let's go." Bluefire prodded gently.
"You are seriously going to regret this!" Cherrywhisker growled over her shoulder to Owlstar. The three cats padded out of the den.
"May I speak to you alone, Flamefur?" Bluefire asked.
"Sure..." Flamefur sighed.
Once they were alone Bluefire spoke up, "I believe you too," Flamefur was speechless. "I'll make sure the apprentices train a bit more with the warriors so that whenever this battle does occur we'll be ready." He reassured.
"Thank you."
