I cannot stress this enough; Start small! No Castles, no caverns, simply a small room that you know well, and expand from it.
How to expand your mind palace:
Picture yourself leaving your small starting room, and entering a new one. Start from scratch, once again fully memorizing every corner. Build up from there.
Tip;
Always start in the same place! Very important! Begin in one area, and run or walk to another. However, don't become lazy. Picture every turn and every step. You can't teleport while in reality, can you?
No distractions! There is a reason I tend to force Anderson to turn away and force everyone into silence before entering my mind palace.
Also! A mind palace isn't reliable for studying for a test or exam, unless you start at least a month ahead. Mind palaces are a continuous process, not a rushed movement.
