I woke up and checked to make sure James and Peter were still asleep. Good, I thought. I looked over at Remus to see him peacefully sleeping next to me. I kissed him softly on the forehead and soft enough so he didn't wake up. What am I doing?! Remus is my best mate, I can't be doing this! I thought once again. I quickly got dressed. I should talk to Lily.

I rushed into the common room just in time to see Lily talking to some other forth years.

"Hey, um, Lily? Can I talk to you? Alone?" I asked.

While the fellow forth years snickered, Lily answered calmly (knowing that I wouldn't do anything to her because James is my best mate), "Sure, whats up?"

"Follow me," I said.

We walked to the lake, the dewy Saturday morning looking wonderful, and sat down under a willow tree that we always sit under.

"I-I need to tell you something," I told her.

I told her about last night (in a very general way, not telling her about Remus's parents or not giving away too personal information) and my feelings for Remus.

"What should I do?" I asked very confused.

"You should tell him how you feel, because it sounds like he has feelings for you too," She replied simply.

"What if he doesn't like me back? How am I sure I even like him?"

"Be true to yourself. What's the first thing that pops into your mind when you think about Remus?"

"That I'm the luckiest person in the world to have him as a friend and everything about him is amazing."

"You like him bad."

"Ok, maybe I should tell him. You know, I'll just wait and figure out my feelings first."

"Alright but I'll give you 3 days. If you don't tell him in that limit, I will."

"Ok, thanks Lily!"

"Anytime!"

I walked back to the castle while Lily sat at the tree for longer, soaking up the scenery. I felt the cool breeze flow through my hair as my stomach fluttered at the thought of telling Remus about my true feelings for him. It's probably best if Lily tells him, I thought. But I also want him to know, from me, that I like him! I'll just play it out and see where it goes, if he shows any signs. Those were my last thoughts when I walked into the common room and....
