I looked at Tom who came back to me with the towel and he looks confused at me.

"My turn to ask. What's wrong? Are you okay?" he said.

I looked at him with a small smile and simply replied "I'm fine!"

Tom nods weirdly and looks at the ground like something's there. Back then in middle school, he'd always look down towards his feet when he felt a certain way. It was then my turn to ask again what's wrong. He gradually rested his head onto my shoulder and started crying.

"The reason I invited you over to my house was because I have something to tell you" he said. "I need to tell you something that might change our lives forever!"

I position myself towards him and looked him right in the eyes. "What's up Tom?"

"I..I.. I'm telling you a joke!" he said while laughing at me. I smack him in the shoulder and told him to get off of me. Even though it was a terrible joke I laughed throughout the situation as well.

I shouted at him, "You idiot! How'd you get yourself to cry?!" He didn't answer and was laughing so hard. I threatened to leave but he finally got serious and said no.

"I thought you knew I can fake tears?" he says while laughing. I didn't even know he could but I just nodded to lead the joke off.

It was 9:45 and I promised my mom to be home by 11. Our conversations that we carried were pretty stupid if someone were suppose to hear. We can talk about school life to animal life in a second. Surprisingly I always bring up a new topic because each topic we discuss gets boring.

It finally had hit 10:30 and I decided to head home because the rain had stop and my mom wants me by 11.

"Hey Tom, I'm gonna head out home because my mom wants me home by 11 and it's 10:30." I said. He gives me a short nod while he was on his phone and said a brisk "bye" to me. I gathered my stuff and headed down the stairs. Tom was right behind me and as we reached the front door he pushes me onto a wall and says it was an accident. I laughed and played it off and so as he does too. We said our goodbyes and I left to go home. The streets were dark and the lights were bright. Everything was so quiet too. As I reached my house, I looked into the garage and I didn't see my dad's car.

I didn't bother to ask why but instead I went inside and took a deep sleep. I was ready for tomorrow's drama.

- Tom

"That was terrible" I thought to myself. I almost told him my biggest secret that no one knows. He's my best friend I thought.. Why can't I tell him? I can't tell him that I'm "gay and like boys." It'll be too awkward. I head downstairs and go to the living room where Trent and Katie were at. They were watching "Friends" just like the t.v show Mat's mom watches.

I came into the living room with a big shout of "Hey!" coming from Trent. He looks up to me and sees that something's wrong.

"What's up big bro? You okay?" He asks curiously. I look off into the kitchen where it was dark hoping Trent would stop talking.

I look back and I see him in front of my face. "WOAH DUDE, Don't scare me like that!" I screamed. Both Katie and Trent start laughing and got serious real quick.

"So what's the push Tom?" Katie asked.

I took a big sigh and explained "I just have a minor problem with trying to cope with a secret." Knowing both Katie and Trent, they honestly don't care for secrets  so they just sit in silence. Trent looks up to me and asks me some questions about what I've been doing. I gotta be honest, He's actually a pretty good therapist if you ask me.

Katie gets up and sits by us on the carpet. "Hey Tom, Lemme tell you something that I'm sure Trent doesn't know. Whatever secret you have, don't tell us until you're ready. Matter in fact don't tell anyone unless YOU are ready. Be safe and have a good night. I'm really tired and tomorrow I have to help study with Taylor at the library. Night!" She rushed out of the living room and heads upstairs without me saying a goodnight.

"Now is she okay?" I asked curiously.

Trent looked at me and told me that she's just really tired. It was around 11:23 at night and I was getting tired too.

"Hey bro, I'm really tired, we should get some sleep." I said. He nodded and got up too. He closed the lights and our house was completely dark. I got to my room and threw the door and went straight into my covers. Helplessly I forgot to turn on my alarm.
