The sunlight beamed in my eyes and I slowly woke up. I could smell a strong scent of pancakes in the air. For the first time, I didn't feel like throwing up. Actually, I never had anything against pancakes, they just. Aren't veggies, which I love. I don't think I tried them in a while. The last time I did was before I was vegan.

I slip on some slippers and throw a robe over my clothes. I take my hair out of the itchy bun it's been in for two days. I shake up my head and scratch all over. I take my brush from my dresser and walk downstairs. I let out a yawn, then rub my neck. Mom is at the dinner table sipping coffee. She's always the early bird. Jayson, Suzy, and Suzan were asleep on the couch.

"Good morning, sweetie." She said, after putting her cup on her lap.

"Morning, Mom." I said, stroking my hair with the brush.

"Go wash up, I have breakfast on the cooker."

"Stove? And by wash up, do you mean-"

"I mean shower. Now go take one please. Love you!"

I took a sigh, "Love you too, Mom." I walked back to my room and put the brush back on my dresser. I take a t-shirt and a pair of jeans, and other clothes to the bathroom.

Jayson wakes up and looks around. He forgot he wasn't home. No dad, no home, and no clue where his father might be.

"Jayson, are you up?" Mom calls out.

"Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm awake." He says with a faint smile.

"Okay, breakfast is cooking." She replies.

He sits up straight on the couch and rubs his eyes. He grabs his phone and decides to call his dad. Jayson dials his number and calls him.

Please leave a message after the beep. Beep.

He gets up and goes outside. "Uh, hey Dad. It's me, Jayson. I heard, uh. I heard you're out looking for me and Anna." He rubs his neck. "I just want to know where you are. And I want to tell you I'm okay. Anna's okay. We are safe. Can you come home? I really miss you, it's been so long and- Just come home, Dad. I love you, bye." He hung up and sat on the steps. Jayson looked at his phone and frowned. He walked back into the house and threw his phone onto the couch where he was sleeping.

I walk down the stairs, with a towel on my head, and see Jayson.

"Oh, hey Jayson. How'd you sleep?" I told him.

"Eh, could be better. Got a full two hours this time." He sighed, looking to the ground.

"Jayson, you need to get more sleep! You haven't been sleeping long enough, and that could mess you up!"

"Well, I can't! All this pain and all these thoughts are draining me! I can't sleep! I can't think straight! And I don't want these stupid powers! Just SHUT IT!" He yelled. I just leaned back and grabbed the railing of the stairs. Suzy and Suzan were awake at this point. I was shocked, my own breath was stuttering.

"Excuse me." He said in a harsh tone. He ran out the door and shut it behind him. Jayson sat on the steps and clutched his head. I just stood there, silent. Suzy mouthed the words, what did you do? I shrugged with wide eyes.

"Jayson, wait!" I called out. I opened the door and he looked at me.

"Go away, Anna." He mumbled. Then he clutched his head again.

"No! I'm not going anywhere."

"Yes, now go inside! I don't want to hurt you!"

"Hurt me? You're not going to hurt me!"
