Last chapter's ending:

I whip my head around. Patrick is coming for me with my penknife, ready to kill.

I am too shocked to respond and Patrick delivers a cut to my right arm. I wince but its nothing to me. I am stronger than that. I have a more powerful weapon. I use my knife to stab his chest but he ducks. He grabs my legs and punches me in the stomach and I use the opportunity to drive my knife into his knee. He falls to the ground in pain and I stab his chest. Three seconds later, the cannon fires.

The wave of relief that washes over me is temporary. I hear footsteps behind me, only to see a mutt. A polar bear with the thighs of a leopard. No doubt its vicious and can run fast. As it charges at me, I throw my knife at its head, delivering a blow to its skull. It falls dead, but another pack comes. I am unable to go and retrieve my knife. As despair fills me, I get a brilliant idea. The stone ceiling has yet to open up to let the hovercraft pick Patrick's body up. I throw Patrick's body towards the mutts and they stop coming for me. They eat Patrick up and I quickly dive in to retrieve my knife and both our items and sprint away, finding refuge in another tree.

I have a flashlight, crackers, two bottles of water, a knife and plasters. The fox we killed earlier was also with me. However, i did not get back my penknife and the two planks of wood we already used.

Soon, the anthem plays and the fallen are shown. All career tributes except the boy from two are alive. Boy from three died. Girl from five died. Both from six. Both from seven. The girl from seven we killed. Both from eight. The girl from eight died because of the bird. The two from eleven and one from twelve. Twelve dead and twelve left to fight.

Alice is still alive. The girl who told me she loved me, then gave me mixed signals. She is still alive. I must admit that I am happy to know she still is alive.

I climb higher up the tree, and suddenly I see an opening in the stone ceiling. I am so excited that I climb out of it without thinking about what could await me.

I am at a tombstone in the rose garden. Roses decorate the tombstone and there is a creepy aura to the whole place. Fear creeps into my heart. This feels like a horror movie. Just then, I hear an eerie howl and a scream pierces the air.
