Chapter 4

Ok Sorry guys I was at My Gandparents for a whole week and I almost died without interente thank GOD for 3G but I couldn't upload my story so here it is so sorry about the delay.

Who could my mate be and how would I know if I walked past him in the hall tomorrow, I don’t think I would in all honesty. How could my wolf hide this from me how could she not tell me who he is or which pack he is in or something about him? She hasn’t told me anything other than the fact that she knows who he is and she isn’t sharing. On top of all this wonderful stuff happening in my life we have the governor of our district of were’s (werewolves) coming in two days to introduce his son to us in hope of him finding his mate. From what I have heard this son of his is nothing but a spoilt little shit, who has no respect for women and didn’t even bother saving his first time for his mate. Although knowing the vicious rumours that spread around this pack it probably isn’t true, half the stuff that people go around telling isn’t. So why would this be any different. We shall see what he is like when he arrives all unmated females are too  be presented to him at the ball being held by our Alpha, YAY me another fancy dress party. I think to myself sarcastically I really should just run for it away from here. The ball is also going to be a party for Austin seeing as it is his birthday in two days, so lucky him he gets to find his mate before I do.

Why couldn’t she tell, why couldn’t I know? As I am on my way home I catch a strange sent. Then suddenly I’m in my wolf form in a defensive stance. I can smell it, it’s a were why do we have to have a rogue attack today. Just two days before we have the Governor and his son, seriously of all days. But I know the scent I recognise it, there is something familiar about it, something safe about it like I know nothing is going to hurt me, kind of feeling. What if my mate is a rogue, I can’t deal with this right now I’m just going to run first ask questions later? I high tail it out of there in wolf form hoping that whoever was there didn’t realise that I was as well.

I arrived back at my house and lucky me, my sister is standing in front of the back door. I thought I would be ok going through the back I didn’t think she would notice me sneaking in, well that plan just failed. “And where have you been may I ask?” Kellie looks like she is about to boil over that pot of crazy she has on her shoulders. I may as well make it tip it’s, either now or later tonight, the fact is it’s going to happen eventually. “Yes you may ask, but I don’t have to give you an answer” I smirk knowing that this would annoying her to the point of no return, she hated being told no. “WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, YOU WILL TELL ME THIS INSTANT” she started throwing demands at me and now I was at boiling point. “Don’t shout at me, I was out walking, my wolf is driving me crazy and on top of that I think we have a rogue problem” I say letting out a sigh of relief that now it wasn’t all my problem to bare. “Ok I’m calm, can you just go tell the Alpha and I will start making dinner” Kellie says letting go of all the tension in her shoulder, I hope that means she is finished raging for the night.

I’m making my way to the Alpha’s house when I catch the scent again. It doesn’t seem to be a bad scent like the smell of a rogue but it doesn’t remind me of anyone in our pack so who is it. Finally arriving at the pack house I ignored the scent until I arrived but it seemed to become stronger as I stepped into the house. Whoever it is if they are in the Alphas house they must know him well. I wait in the foyer to come and be collected by the current beta’ wife she takes all the Alphas guests to him. Adriana finally comes to get me and take me to the Alphas office. I catch the scent again as if the person it belongs to has just been in this room. “Hello, Amber how may I help you tonight?” Alpha asks me with a wide smile on his face. “Well, Sir I was walking this afternoon and caught a strange scent it didn’t smell rogue but I could not recognise it as anyone in the pack I think we may have an intruder” I say hoping that I didn’t sound as stupid as I felt. “oh my dear Amber that scent you would be catching is the smell of the Governor and his son, they have been here for three days so far they wanted to see what the pack was like without the introduction, and the governor’ son has been going to school for the last two days to see if he can find his mate” He said matter-of-factly and it seemed like a logical answer to me. “Ok, well I’m sorry if I have interrupted you evening Alpha, Thank you for your time” I say as a bow my head in respect. “You are welcome to come to me with any problems you may have Amber, it is always a pleasure to have the true Beta’ daughter as company” He says looking at me with the widest smile I have ever seen on a man. “Thank you, Good night Sir” I back towards the door but I am stopped by his voice not a second later. “Oh and Amber, you father is an old friend and you almost feel like a second daughter to me, no need for formalities” He says as if he wants to hear his name. “Well thank you then Alp – Thomas it has been a pleasure.” I say hoping that he was ok with my little mix up of words. “You are quiet welcome Amber, have a good night” and I turn and leave the pack house running away from the intoxicating smell. Wait did Alpha, I mean Thomas just say that the governor’s son has been at school for two days already, Oh why does everything have to complicate more than it already has. If he has been at school then that means I could have passed him in the hall today that means I could have touched him among the 200 other guys at my school. So he could be my mate, well if he is then I get to leave this town but also I have to deal with all the responsibilities of being Luna to basically a whole district, oh my life is too complicated.

Wait I can smell someone, in my house someone other than my father and sister.

Oh its Chace false alarm, ok calm down Amber maybe he came to apologize maybe he is sorry for what he said and how he treated you. You know what he probably is, ok let’s go talk. I walk in the back door and I am engulfed in a hug from my sister. Why am I getting hugs, wait it has to be Chace what has he told them. Oh I’m so going to get him for this. “Amber I’m so happy for you I never thought you would find you mate this quickly, I mean you’re not even 18 yet it’s just so exciting.” My sister says in a high pitch happy voice. Oh Chace is defiantly dead now. “Well come on Amber, where is he?” Kellie says looking at me like I was stupid or something. “Um I actually don’t know who he is yet and” I look past Kellie to see Chace looking at me strangely “How do you know I have a mate I didn’t tell you?” He wouldn’t know how could he know unless he is my mate but I saw him like two hours ago and felt nothing it couldn’t be him. Could it, I mean how else would he know I have a mate, wait does that make my best friend is my mate, my one true love the person I spend the rest of my life with. Well I suppose it’s not that bad.

I walk over to Chace and go to put my hand on his shoulder a simple touch and you can tell if someone is your mate it’s like an electric connection shared between the two of you. I reach down to place my hand on his shoulder and then the front door bell rings. Who could that be?
