Luke and I head away from school to our houses. We go past a few of the girls walking and reach the corner. Luke looks at me, "I've got to head home quickly, got training," And with that he canters off. He has training everyday but Friday so I ride home alone. It doesn't really bother me though. I can take the long way and just clear my head before  going home. Normally i'm the first home but Gloweye would of done something and by the time that's dealt with that everyone starts getting back. I do my homework and we walk the dragons. Bertha can be quit a chore. I head up to the bike track and gallop around it, Peter lets out some energy and I love having a good race on Peter and theirs no where else to do it. Once I reach the end I trot around the quit side of town. I listen to the hooves clicking on the road, the birds, the fairies, the wind, growling dragons and the children running around. I weave through all the blocks taking as long as I can. Its just so peaceful, and when I start getting closer to home it will get noisier. I reach Tina street and begin to head home. Its pretty much straight from here. I only have to turn when I get closer to home. It slowly becomes less peaceful as the houses get worse and more spread out, there are more people and dragons fighting and burning down tree's. I turn right out of Tina street and begin to wonder what Gloweye's done. I turn down our driveway and take Peter to the stable.

I knock on Gloweye's door. He has crossed the line this time. I knock harder. and wait another moment. I bang on the door. "Gloweye!" I hear the locks unhitching and the door slowly opens. "What have you done with Tony?"

"What do you mean? Is he not in your yard?"

"He wasn't inside when I got home. What have you done?"

"Maybe he went for a quick fly, dragons do that you know,"

"Everyday Tony is waiting inside for me. Why would he not today?" Gloweye didn't reply. "What have you done," I say it more firmly this time.

"He's a spark dragon, I need a scale for my clean potion, I used my last on the dry potion at the school,"

"Yes. Thank you for that, but if you had just asked rather then kidnapping my dragon,"

"Would you let me pull a scale off?"

"He's lost a few, I could of given you a couple dozen, but not now,"

"Oh," He looks to ground. "He's in my room, I'll go get him," He disappears into the house and returns a moment later holding a thrashing Tony outstretched in his arms. I take the dragon and cradle him in my arms. He begins to growl softly and I rub the top of his head. He growls louder and I walk away. I get inside and sit on my bed with him. I examine his back for where any scales have gone missing. He breaths a quick breath of fire as my hand touches a soft bit. I look at the mark where the scale once was. Its already going red and puffy.

"Oh, mate. I'll go get something for that," I walk out to the kitchen and open the medicine cabinet and look for some regrowth. "Grounding. Oh we have some," I look at the bottle. "Not much, same with property. Um. Disinfectant. May need that." I place it on the table and continue looking." Unrunny nose, no cough, cold away. Regrowth. Ah there it is," I close the cabinet and take the potions back in to Tony. I look at the fleshy part on his back and decide it does need disinfectant. I put a small drop on and watch as it turns white and shrinks back down. Tony, who was also watching, growls and I rub his head. "Regrowth now," I put another drop on his back and watch as new scale grows. "All good mate," I rub his head and he breaths a flame next to my ear and runs out f my room.

"Hey Tony, I got that grounding potion for George, he in his room?" My dad is home. He soon appears at my door and tosses me the potion. "Go check the fairies,"

I get up and go outside, still holding the potion. Bertha walking next to me I head down to the fairies. I whistle and the pregnant fairy comes up. I shake the potion and she opens her mouth. I drop a bit in and she quickly darts away. If they drink it then the babies will be grounded, but they won't. "Bertha, give me a boost. I gotta get Gloweye's," I walk to the fence and Bertha bows her head. I step on her broad skull and she lifts me up. I whistle again. "Line up guys." They obey and each receive a drop. I watch as they slowly flutter down, a few only flying centimeters from the ground while the rest walk. They don't seem to mind. "Bertha. Down." She lowers me down and I step off. "That'd show him," Two small licks of flame come out of Bertha's nose and I rub her head. "Good girl, I gotta go inside, but walk at seven. OK," She rubs her head on my side and I walk back inside. Its five o'clock now. Brendan will be home in half an hour and mum an hour later. She comes home early while her sister, who has no children, stays out until closing time. I sit down at my desk and pull out my books. I didn't get any homework today but I have some geography I haven't done yet. I look at my time table. I have geography tomorrow, so I have to do it. I pull it out from the stack of books and flip to the page. Just have to finish this question. I sigh, I'd been putting it off half the week and it was just a line of writing. 'Mink has been building a dam for the past three years to help with the water supply'

I close my book and sit back. I think for a moment if I have any more work I should be doing. History. No. Geography. No. Science. No. Mathematics. No. PDHPE. No. English. No point I can do it in class. Yes! I pull open up my computer and open my story. Its about a girl who rides a unicorn, and she wins all these competitions. A lot of people look at me funny when I tell them about it, but its a story not real life, I mean I would support a girl who wants to ride but most don't. Its nearly done, I hope it finish it by the end of term so I can start my new idea. I can't wait to start but want to get this one out of the way. Its a total fantasy world, but in modern times. Where all our animals where replaced with mythical creatures. I hope to get it published. I hope to get all my stories published one day.

I hear my brothers car pull in to driveway. Its five-thirty. I listen as he goes into the kitchen and looks for food. He'll come in here and eat. I'm not sure how it started but we tell each other about our day in my room while we both eat. I watch the door and see him come in. He sits on my bed and I flop next to him and grab some of mum's brownie. "Peter's going to be the representative unicorn,"

"Cool, I'll save it all for when you tell mum and dad,"

"Thanks. Other then that nothing really happened. Well I grounded gloweye's fairies." I don't find it necessary to tell him about Tony.

He laughs. "Nice one. Some-one tried to steal some shirts today. It was pretty funny." He laughs again. "He went into the change room, and you know how you can't see them go in, he had like five shirts but only said he one. He put four of them on under his actual shirt. Man he looked funny," We both laugh. "Mark noticed he looked a little fatter but didn't want to be rude see, so he almost got out but this little kid pulled the shirt out from under him, man it was great 'cause he tried to keep going and pretend it didn't happen but I seen it all," We both laugh. "Police came in. Fined him something like three-Hundred dollars. Repeated assault too. Nearly took him in."

My dad comes in. "Brendan can you come help with this?" Brendan looks up and walks out of the room. I sit back at my desk and open my laptop again. I get consumed in my story for the next seventy-five minutes. Mum comes into my room. "Hey George. Get ready we're leaving in five minutes," I look at the time. Its 6:54.

I put on my shoes and walk outside to see Bertha and Tony waiting. I hook on there leads and walk up to the gate. I'm met by the rest of my family. Somehow I ended up having to walk both the dragons, which gets hard when we get to busy streets but I try to convince my family not to take them. We walk along and I listen to the others talk, my thoughts are interrupted my name. "How was your day George?" I look up at my mum.

"Oh not to bad. Peter gets to be representative unicorn," My parents break into a fuss about it. Its cool and all but i'm kind of over the fuss already. I finish the rest of the walk without saying much, my family normally talks retail and I just think of story ideas. We get home at eight. I feed the dragons again and have a shower while mum cooks tea.

We have tea like most family's do. We all sit at the table and talk. Mum and dad share stories of what they'd heard, Brendan joins in fair bit and I do when I have something to say. Apparently Gloweye may become the school's official wizard. Which I don't like, especially sense he took Tony's scales. Once we finish tea I have to wash the dishes. It doesn't take long, just the four plates, cutlery, the pan and the spatula. Once its all put away I head to the bathroom and brush my teeth. Its about ten past nine and I have another twenty minutes until I have to go to bed. I join the rest of my family in the lounge room. Closing in is just starting. We always watch it together and it works well with my bed time

The teaser for tomorrow's episode starts and I head to my bedroom. I turn the lights off and huddle up under the covers. I close my eyes and wait for sleep to come. I begin to think about how predictable my life is. Today was just another day. Tomorrow will be the same and the day after that. Not much exciting happens. Maybe that's why I like reading and writing so much, its something different. I made an unconscious decision I want to escape and that's the only way I could. Fantasy is so different and exciting things happen. That's what I want. Something to happen, something spontaneous. Sure I was surprised about representative unicorn but they always choose a white one and Peter's one of the few white unicorns. I remember dad saying when I first went into high school Peter would end up being representative unicorn at some stage. The honor leaves and I begin to wish life wasn't as predicable, and not just another day.
