Chapter 5: Gold Pack

Crystal's Pov

"What do you mean 'We got a predicament'?" Love asks as she stares at me.

    "I mean: we got a predicament. None of these keys work." I say holding up the keys once more.

    "So how are we supposed to get out?" Skylar asks touching the bars that holds them back.

    "Hey, Crystal?" Anna calls out.

    "Yeah."

    "Do you still have that Bobby pin I gave you for your birthday?"

    "Yeah, it's right here." I say as I pull it out from my hair.

    "Perfect, we should try to pick the lock!" Skylar says as she claps her hands together like a little girl.

    "One problem: none of us know how to pick a lock." Love says.

"Who says we have to know? It could be just like the movies." Skylar says.

"Say the last word again." Love says staring at Skylar.

"Again?"

"No! The last word of your sentence."

"Oh! Movies."

"Exactly. This isn't a movie, a show, or even a book. This is real life. We can't just magically be able to do thin-"

"Done!" I yell out after I picked the lock on the cell.

"Wha? How did you- What?" Love asks staring between me, the Bobby pin in my hand, and the lock.

"I told her how." Anna says as she helps me put the Bobby pin back in my hair.

"How did you know how?" Love asks, dumbfounded.

"Remember my Uncle Daniel?", Love nods, "he went to prison, and when he got out, he taught me a few things. I just had to tell them to Crystal."

"Okay, nice story and all. But we only have," I glance down at my watch,"half an hour left. Let's go."

    We run up the stairs, and open the cellar door. The first thing I see is the forest. I look around and see the pack house.

    "Okay, let's go." I say as I run behind a tree all spylike.

"Do you guys know where the car is?" Anna asks.

"Yeah, right over there." Skylar answers as she points to our car, right next to the pack house.

We run through the forest, trying our best to not make a sound. We're halfway to the car when all of a sudden, I'm blinded by light. The light moves and I see Todd, with Devin, Emmet, Moby, Mark, and Brian next to him.

     "Trying to run away, sweetheart?" Todd asks us.

     "No, I'm trying to find the unicorn that owes me 50 bucks," I say sarcastically, "You might know him cause he's a jerk like you."

    "Take them away!" Todd yells to Devin, Emmet, Moby, Mark, and Brian. Emmet grabs my hands and I think I heard him say "I'm sorry" but I was to busy hearing the screams from Moby who was trying to grab Love.

    "You'r- You'r- You're a monster!" Moby yells out.

     I turn to look at Love only to see that she is holding balls of fire in her hand. The weird thing is the fire wasn't red, or orange, or the color of a normal fire. It was magenta.

     I feel Emmet's hold on me weaken and eventually let go. Love herself looks a bit scared, not knowing why this is happening. I hear another scream and turn to see that Todd has a knife to Skylar's neck.
