"SANS TAKE THE GODDAMN SHOT!" You cried, tears painting your face.

Sans was frozen in place, looking at you. Your body kept changing, shifting from the broken, tattered image of you and the bloodthirsty, ravenous image of a demonic child known as Chara. For the moment, you had control. You dropped the blade in your hand and stretched your arms out, exposing your body for attacks.

"Take the shot! I'll just reset and we can start over again. I didn't want this! I-I just want everyone back." You sobbed.

"(Y-Y/N)... I don't know if you can reset." Sans said, unsure.

"Then we can get Frisk to! Just take the shot while I have control!" You snapped.

"(Y/N)-"

"Do it now!" You screamed,  squeezing your fist.

Finally, bones pierced your body and your own skeleton crunched around the new bones. To seal the deal, your body was engulfed in the lasers of a Gaster Blaster. Chara screamed, clawing at your mind like a wild animal.

Something's wrong! We're not gonna reset. We're not making it back! We're not-

Quiet. The child's voice was replaced by white noise and something swept over you. The few moments of relief you usually got from ending a genocide run weren't there. Something in you felt hallow. What was a genocide run? It seems bad. Why was there a child speaking to you? Do we know each other? Why are my memories so fuzzy, so far away? What happened to me?

Your eyes opened to see nothing but endless white. No walls over floors surrounded you. It was just blank space. Beautiful singing filled the air, sounding like it was familiar. It was comforting, like when a mother sang lullabies to their children.

You stood and walked towards it, but quickly found yourself lost. You wanted to hear the song. You wanted to find who was singing the tune, but you couldn't see.

"Hello?" You called. "Ma'am please help me. I can't find you, I'm so lonely. I want to see you." You pled.

The singing stopped and the area around you shifted. Lively greenery sprouted from the walls of the seemingly wall-less void. Animals appeared from patches, peering at you fearfully. A large wooden door appeared in front of you, vines twisting around it elegantly.

"Hello?" You echoed again.

The door swung open and the area around you seemed to fill in. A female monster, appearing to be a goat-type of creature, looked at you wearily. She wore a dress woven of large blossoms and leaves, a view over the entirety of it like morning dew. A crown of blue blossoms circled her horns as her gentle magenta eyes circled towards you.

"A child? How are you here? How have you managed to travel such a path?" She muttered.

Something about her seemed comforting, and you felt the numbness inside of you break down. A tidal wave of emotions washed over you as you ran to her, feeling she was like a mother to you. Fear and panic laced your actions as you clung to the woman, sobbing. Confusion rocked you next, then an emotional pain. One of realizing you'd just lost something you couldn't remember.

"Please help me." You sobbed. "I can't remember anymore. I'm so alone. I'm scared. I'm not supposed to be here." You cried.

The woman seemed startled by you, but melted into a gentle smile. Her paw-like hands encircled you as she lifted you in a tender embrace. She walked, cradling you tenderly in her soft arms.

"It is okay, my child. You are safe. I will not leave you." She cooed. "My name is Toriel, I am the goddess of life. What might I call you, young child?"
