"Erza! You have to wake up! You have to get to your makeup artist for your proposal!" my mother shook me from my sleeping state. My scarlet hair stood up in every direction and my eyes brown eyes were still filled with exhaustion.
"What?" I mumbled, my state of mind still mostly on the sleeping side.
My mom sighed and said "you have to head over to Mira's so you can get your make up done and come back so you can meet your marriage match, Gray? Remember?"
I finally processed what she was saying and quickly groaned and dove my face back into my pillow.
I got out of bed and walked into the washroom to wash my face and and put on some suitable clothes.
I was quickly ushered out of the house and to one of my closest friends house, Mirajane. She is known for making girls looks absolutely gorgeous for any sort of event.
I was heading over there now because she had t get me ready to meet my future husband, someone who I had not even met yet.
I knocked on the Strauss siblings small hut door and Mira opened the door with a gentle smile.
"Hi Erza, come on in," and she opened the door wider and let me enter her house. "Are you excited for today?"
"I can't say I am because I'm not ready to get married yet. I want to help my dad, seeing as he is still injured." I was worried for my father. Ever since he came back from war, he had injured his leg and he had to limp everywhere he went now.
"Well that's how I felt when I was forced to marry Laxus, but look where we are now. We are happily married and expecting too," Mira said, rubbing her growing belly. It's true that she was also forced into marriage with Laxus and they had their up and downs, especially when Laxus tried taking over the village, but the eventually got over all of that and are now.
"I just can't imagine myself married to Mr. Fullbuster. Plus hasn't there been rumors that he has been sleeping around with the baker, Juvia Lockser?"
"True, but why wouldn't he want to get married to you?"
"Cause I'm different. I don't usually wear makeup or dress up for people. I train young kids to defend themselves. Who wants to marry a girl who oozes nothing but awkwardness?"
"Whatever you say Erza, by the time I'm done with you, no one will recognize you."
She got me to put on my dress first and then she started to do my hair and my makeup. she tied up my hair to the right side of my face in a bun and let some of them fall into my face. She did only a light amount of makeup on my face to make it look natural and not to cakey.
I exited the house and got stares from many of the people around me. That always happens whenever I go anywhere because of my job and my bright scarlet red hair. People think it's magical but other thinks it a curse.
I walked back into my house and heard my grandpa, Makarov, yelling at my parents.
"What do you mean I can't keep it! It's a pet of mine, you can't make me get rid of it!" I walked into the living room area and saw grandpa on the coffee table, holding a cage above his small body. My parents had surrounded him, telling him to step off of the table.
"Erza, my dear!" Grandpa jumped off the table and walked over to me. "I know today is a special day for you, but can you please explain to your parents that I am not returning my cricket!" He held up the cage for me to see and showed me the small cricket in the cage, happily jumping around.
"Okay fine! We can keep it your stupid cricket, just as long as it doesn't disturb us in the night time!" My dad yelled, rubbing his temples.
At that moment, the doorbell rang and we all froze. "They're here," my mom whispered and her and dad started rushing around, cleaning everything they could as they both walked towards the door.
"Erza, go into the kitchen and when they sit down, bring out the food and then come and sit with us. Dad, please take your cricket and yourself upstairs to your room," my dad said, glaring at grandpa.
I walked into the kitchen and took breaths in and out, slowly waiting for my future husband to walk into the room.
