As I am turning into Riverbend High I automatically start to notice how big the school is. Well the front of it is but imagine how big it is on the inside! I get out of the car and grab my backpack from the backseat.
hmmm.. Maybe this school isn't going to be so bad.
It takes me about 5 minutes to walk to Riverbend mostly because I parked really far since most of the spots were for teachers and staff or most were taken. I sit down on the long bench out side and take my phone out of my backpack.
7:25AM the time reads. 5 more minutes until the gates open.
*beep*
*New text message*
I check my phone and to see that Emily, one of my best friends texted me.
From: Em💖🐶
"I hope your having an amazing first day! We all miss you, Ki. WUV you💕"
"Hey! Thanks Em. Same to you too💞 I miss you guys, too! I wish I didn't have to move we would've had sooooo much fun this year!"
It was always the 4 of us: Emily, Kianna, Lilly, and me. Emily was the optimist out of the group. Always bringing sunshine and rainbows and always brightening up someone's day. Kianna is the loving person out of the group. She's always there for you. Lilly's the "devil" of the group but once you get to know her you'll soon realize that she's not all that bad. And last but not least there's me, who brings the craziness and weirdness to the group. We were always attached at the hip but now ever since the move we've been kind of distant.
*beep*
*New text message*
We message back and forth for a little while until one of the school administrators opened up the gates to school. I say goodbye to Emily, turn off my phone and head inside my new school.

The inside is definitely looks like one of those dramatic high school movies. The wall are painted a whitish color, the courtyard has about dozens of picnic tables around and the school even set up a garden on the inside.
I find one picnic table in the far corner and take out to pieces of copy paper and start to draw the school garden with the sky as a background.
"Hey, that's a really nice drawing. Are you in the art program?" I turn around to find a smiling girl wearing pigtails with cat ears on with a plain blue plain T-shirt and black jeans and purple converse. She maybe mix-matching but she sure is pretty.
Without invite, she plops herself down next to me. "My name is Jayde, Jayde Williams. I'm a sophomore here. What about you?"
I pause kind of stunned. "Well first no, I'm not in the art program and second my name is Kyla, Kyla Anderson and I'm also a sophomore."
"Are you new here? You have to be new here. I've never seen you around before."
"I actually am," I say and put the drawing of the garden down "how'd you know?"
"I can tell. Plus this is my secret getaway place and no one ever sits here so I just assumed." She chuckles. "But anyways welcome to Riverbend! We have everything here you can think of. Sports, a gardening club a sculpting class an art program." She gave me a little nudge when she said "art program". "I'm actually apart of the program. It's really fun. We do different types of art like still life, abstract and more. You should totally check it."
*bing bing bing*
I shove my half done garden drawing into my backpack, take out my schedule and stand up. "I'll think about it." I say with a smile and look back down at my schedule.
"Is that your schedule?" she asks.
I nod.
"Let me see it." I hand it to her and start to play with my finger nails while she scans through my schedule.
"Well we have first and third period together. Come on you don't want to be late on your official first day." She says with a smile.
I smile back and follow her to my favorite class.
I think I just made a new friend
