Chapter Eighteen

Friday morning came quickly. Mya, Alanna, and Natalie took the bus to school and Brock and I dropped Ajay, Turk, and Duke off at Olivia's before heading to the airport. Rick met us in the parking garage and surprised me by bringing along Kate. He had gotten well acquainted with my illness and decided it would be best if someone could be with me when Brock couldn't. Since I knew Kate and felt fairly comfortable around her, he thought she was a better option than the doc on site and I had to agree.

When we arrived in Vegas, we were taken to the arena for the weigh-in. It really didn't take long, maybe twenty minutes altogether, then we went to the hotel and relaxed the rest of the day. Kate and I spent time at the pool, mostly because I was having major hot flashes, and really just wanted someone to pour gallons of cold water on me. It just so happened they had a kitty pool which had a huge bucket thing that like drowned you in ice water.

Let's just say, Kate had to go get Brock to make me leave. I don't see what the big deal was, there weren't any kids around so it's not like I was hogging it. And if anyone asked, I'd blame it on the hormones. No one would dare upset a pregnant lady, especially one who happened to be married to Brock Lesnar...

My eyes flew open as nausea overwhelmed me. I sat up quickly in bed, covering my mouth with my hand. I glanced to Brock, who was still sleeping, and got up. I tried to be as quiet as I could as I practically ran to the bathroom. I barely got to the toilet before all the contents of my stomach were expelled from my mouth.

For the next few minutes I literally couldn't stop. I barely had enough time to breathe before another bout settled over me. "Case?" I heard the bed squeak and knew that I had gotten Brock up. "What's wrong?"

I groaned as he knocked on the door. "Go away! Please!" There was no way in hell I was gonna let him see me like this. I'd rather die.

The doorknob started to turn. "Case-"

"So help me, Brock, if you open that door, I will get up and kick you where the sun don't shine!" Everything went quiet so I assumed that he realized I wasn't joking.

          And I wasn't. At all.

"Casey? Can I come in?" Kate's low voice slipped through the cracks.

I knew that he had went and got her. "Yes."

She cracked the door just enough for her to slide in and then shut it. "Threatening the husband already? I thought women saved that for labor?" She chuckled as I looked to her. "Oh, dear. You don't look so good..." I groaned as another bout set in. "Morning sickness, been there, done that. That's why Rick and I stopped at one kid."

Eventually, she stopped talking and held my hair. After a while, she put it up in a bun for me and held a cold towel to my forehead. It took some time but I finally settled down... Probably because there was literally nothing in my stomach to vomit.

I rested my back against the wall as I saw her typing on her phone. She noticed my curiosity and smiled. "It's Rick. He's in the living room with Brock and he wanted to know if it had stopped yet."

"Why don't he just ask me himself?"

She looked to me. "Honey, you threatened his manhood. I'd say he's keeping a safe distance..."

I couldn't help but grin as she laid the phone on the sink. "I think I'm okay now... Will you go get my things out of the bedroom? I need to get ready, we need to be at the arena early and I'm putting everybody behind."

She nodded and hurried off as I turned the shower on. Within a moment or two, she returned with my clothes and makeup bag, then she stepped outside to let me get ready. I showered and dressed as quickly as I could.

By the time I blow dried by hair, the nausea was creeping back

By the time I blow dried by hair, the nausea was creeping back. "Kate?" I asked, sitting on the counter.

"What do you need?" She asked, cracking the door. "Dang! How did you do that so fast? You went from sick pregnant lady to freakin' Kate Middleton in twenty minutes!"

I chuckled lightly. "Thanks, but I need you to do my makeup. I can't even hold my brush steady."

She nodded and began going to work. "Do you really think you can make it? We can stay here and watch the fight on TV, if you want."

I shook my head. "No, he needs me and I'll be there."

"Case? Will you let me come in now?" Brock added from the door.

          I sighed. "If you must."

The door swung open as he appeared, dressed in his gear and leaning against the doorway. He was about to say something but stopped when he saw me. His eyes travelled up and down before he continued. "And this is why we can't stop having children."

I probably blushed but I didn't care. "Nope, I have made my decision. There will be no more children after this one. I will have my tubes tied or a freakin' hysterectomy, if I have to, but no more. I'm too old for this."

I could tell he wanted to laugh but he held it in. "And I'll support you in whatever you decide. But Case, if you are too sick to go, you can stay here with Kate. She can even FaceTime Rick and you can see what's going on the entire time I'm gone. You'll have the best seat in the house."

I shook my head. "Nope, I'm going. This is the title fight and I will be there to see you hold up that belt. We've both went through a heck of a lot to get here and I refuse to miss it."

He held his hands up in defeat. "Okay, the Queen has spoken. I won't over rule."

I couldn't help but smile at the joke. "Oh, please, you couldn't over rule if you wanted to." He shrugged as his famous side-smirk flashed across his face. That was the smirk that made me fall in love with him and that's when I knew that I had to be at that fight. This baby and I were gonna have to suck it up because I had to be there for him...
