Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock. I could mentally hear each second move as I stared at the clock plastered on the wall.
We finally made it. I would never ever have to come back to this prison again. I won't have to see anymore social classes. No more popular kids. No more nagging from my parents . No more pointless high school drama. But as much as I don't like high school, there's plenty of things that I do love and appreciate about it. I've had so many amazing experiences that I won't ever forget. Everybody's high school experience is different. What really makes it worth while is being able to share it with friends. Luckily for me, I have three wonderful girls by my side. And although it's sad to see each other go our separate ways, we are proud of each others accomplishments.
I definitely will not miss this place that much, I thought as I looked around what supposedly was once my pre-cal class. As of right now, it looks more like lunch, as people walked in and out as they pleased, students taking last moment pictures, and chatting away with their friends.
"GOODBYE CLASS. IT REALLY WAS SUCH A PLEASURE GETTING TO TEACH YOU AND SEE YOU GROW OVER THE COURSE OF THE SCHOOL YEAR. WHEREVER YOU ARE HEADING NEXT, I KNOW YOU WILL SUCCEED. IT WILL BE A PLEASURE TO WATCH ALL THAT ARE ACCEPTING THEIR DIPLOMA WALK ACROSS THAT STAGE. YOU MADE IT CLASS OF 2016." Mr. Whiten recited his annual end of the year speech over the talking class.
He had finished speaking right on time, just as the bell rang. I had no time to waste I quickly grabbed my bag and got out of the classroom as soon as I could.
"Anala, why'd it take you so long?" Alexis asked, glancing at me with her ebony colored eyes, as I got into her white Hyundai Sonata.
"Sorry, the hallways are like, completely blocked! But at least we had a half day. Why'd we even come to school anyway?" I complained.
"Guys let's move it, we have graduation later tonight!" Lowman yelled over her roaring motorcycle when we hit a red light, pulling up next to us with her bright red hair tucked into her helmet.
"And we also have to finish packing for our flight tomorrow!" Karen added from her 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible on our other side.
Some people may find it odd how we just talk to each other whenever we get to a stop light but it's just become a normal thing now.
"I'm so nervous and excited and..... I don't know how I feel right now. I'm just a whole bunch of mixed emotions." Alexis admitted as we got out of her car and walked towards her house.
Ever since I can remember, it's been a tradition of ours to always get ready together for any big event. Last time it was prom, at Karen's. This time, graduation at Alexis', and the excitement has practically doubled from then.
"Phss, you'll be fine. We've been looking forward to this forever!" Karen added as she pulled in behind us and overheard our conversation.
"Karen, is completely right. And we finally get to see JULES again!" I exclaimed, giving her a huge smile.
"He asked if I could send the recording that my mom's getting tonight. So he feels like he graduated." Alexis laughed and shook her head. That sounded like Jules, alright.
"Well he got his dream job anyway, graduating shouldn't matter," Karen reminded.
"Okay, so I'm torn between actually looking okay for the airport tomorrow, but then again I just want to go in sweatpants." Lowman let out a sigh, blowing a puff of air to keep her crimson bangs out of her face.
"Dude, I feel your pain," Alexis agreed as she let a frown grace her mouth.
As we all got ready, I couldn't help but look around. Our graduation gowns all lay on the bed. Alexis is frantically trying to get her raven colored hair to form the perfect curls. Lowman is quickly applying black eyeliner to make her beautiful blue eyes pop out more than they already did. And Karen's standing by the full length mirror, admiring how she looks with her sleek hair falling straight down her back.
