The Virus

The pizza parlor just got a phone call. Damien walked out and told everyone to be calm and to head home, he also said we could take out left over pizzas. I was about to get up and walk out when my arm was pulled by Parker.
"Hold on I need to talk to you."
"Ok..." I said a little shakiness in my voice
"Look there was a virus spread out to try to bring the dead back to life... It apparently back fired and spread to more people causing people to turn into these awful monsters. I am staying here to help Damien, you need to go and get everything that we'll need ok?"
So many questions popped up in my head
"Wait how do you know about this? what about my family? what's going on?"
"We don't have time for this! you need to go and get everything that we'll need take my baby and go to my house to get clothes weapons and other things we'll need ok?! we'll talk when you get back ok?" he said getting up releasing my arm he embraced me in a hug. I took his keys and ran out the door. I got in the car and turned it on and started to drive to Parker's house.
I knocked on his front door but no answer. It was unlocked so I opened the door and walked in.
"Hello? Mrs.Robinson?"
Still no answer. "Maybe she's still at work?". I had been to Parker's house many times so I knew where everything was. I walked up to his too to get some of his clothes. When I opened his door the smell of his cologne filled my nose. I smiled and walked in to his closet grabbed some clothes and shoved them into a duffle bag. I grabbed some hoodies thinking it would get cold, one caught my eye. It had his favorite band name on it, I put it on and it was a bit big, the sleeves went all the way to my fingers and it smelled like him so I kept it on. After I finished in his room I went down to his cellar to see if his dog was there and for some more supplies. Once I got down there the cage where their Doberman was empty.
"Here Buster!" I shout and wait for a bark or something.
"I wonder where he is?" once I get enough supplies I head up stairs to the kitchen.
I go to the pantry and get all the canned and boxed food, as I am packing up I here a growling from out side. Thinking its Buster I run outside, I can't see him so I walk around and look behind the only tree there.
Still not there... when I turn around a monster had tackled me on the ground.
"Argh guh"
"SOME ONE HELP ME!!!!!"
I struggle to keep the monster from hurting me tears were streaming from my eyes and I was getting weak.
"someone help..." I whispered almost letting the monster fall, just when I was about to let go
"LINDY?!"
It was Parker and Damien they had gotten guns and came to help me
"GUYS!!! help!!!!"
"We can't we might shoot you!!"
"Then come get it off me!"
Parker ran over and kicked the monster off and shot it in the head. Finally catching my breath more tears fell down my face. Parker lending me his hand helped me up, as soon as he did I hugged him tightly crying on his shoulder.
"It's ok, I'm here now."
"What was that?!"
"That was the monster I told you about earlier," he said petting my hair which felt amazing "they eat human flesh and crave blood."
"Oh... thanks for saving me."
"No problem, but why were you outside?"
"I was looking for Buster."
"Oh Lindy, my mom has him."
"Oh... wait where is your mom?"
"She escaped from the city and got to the country side."
"Oh-"
I was cut off by Damien
"Hey guys I know you two just had a pretty romantic save, but if we want to get out of the city, we're gonna have to leave."
"That's right." Parker said letting go if me and walking away my legs were still shot from the experience I just had so when I tried to walk I just fell
"Oh shit Lindy!" Parker said picking me up bridal style and walking toward Damien.
"Ok ready?"
"Yep lets go." I wrapped my arms around his neck, I knew I wasn't going to be here long so I tried to enjoy it. we walked to Damien's car and plopped most of the things in his car he got in and started to drive off. By then Parker put me down and I was still shaking pretty badly. He noticed and said
"Hey it's ok, your alive and is that my sweater?"
"Oh uh yeah sorry it just looked comfy, but I could have died if you had been a few seconds later."
"I understand that, but we got there just in time so I could save you. Also it's ok the sweater looks better on you anyway."
He embraced me in his arms.
"Wait, why did you come?" I blushed as he said that his sweater looked better on me.
"You were taking a little long and I got worried."
"Aww you were worried about me."
I caught him blushing and he looked down.
"Well yeah, your like a sister to me."
"Oh..."I sighed and walked over to Parker's car, I could tell he didn't realize what he said hurt my feeling so he just stood there dumb founded
"Hey we gonna go?"
I said smiling and opened his door and crawled in
"Oh yeah sorry." He ran up to his car and hopped in and started it up. When we were on the road other people in their cars were also on the road causing lots of traffic.
