Emotion. Such a troublesome thing, it's what you humans use everyday as well. To be honest, the only time of emotion i'll bother using is my sadistic side and my pleasure when i spot a good human to eat.
"Who should we eat today?" Shadow said popping up behind me. He was called shadow for a reason after all. He was apparently the 'inner me' or so he said. Fortunately for me, only i can see him.
"Who knows and who cares." I replied monotone. It was simple, grab a good human to eat and eat them. I am human myself, but because of human emotions of disgust people call me a demon. It doesn't bother me and i'd rather not be part of a human race anyway.
"Oh, look at the time, you need to go to school." shadow said. I sighed, i had no choice to go school. If the government caught wind of me living on my own without any parents, i'd be forced to go to a foster home. I grabbed my bag and left the house going to school. Shadow went inside me and looked through my eyes. It was better this way as, we could communicate in my head. I moved by black hair out of my eyes, it seems i need to cut my hair.
"Hey kei, wait for me!" I heard my...friend call me. He was the only human i could actually tolerate and as much as i hate to admit, i would protect him no matter what. He was always there when i was a child and would try to help me when bullies come and attempt to make me feel sad. I appreciated the effort but i wasn't actually affected even as a child. I sighed when I realised he caught up.
" Your late." I said. He only grinned.
"I accidentally broke my alarm and I haven't had a chance to get a new one yet." He replied. He grabbed my arm and started running. "Lets run to the school so we can go to the music room, I have new lyrics!" He said his eyes shining. I only ran with him not answering. When we finally arrived, the others were there already. Rin, ryota, me and hiroyuki made a band called 'the rising ones' where we actually peform in concerts. We wasn't that famous but we were well known. It was always hiroyuki's dream to be part of a band and being his friend, I couldn't say no. Even though I am a blood thirsty carnival who wouldn't hesitate to kill, I allowed myself to join the band. I opened the door and saw the others waiting for us. Hiroyuki started conversing with others while i got the lyrics and the equipment. I stood in front of the microphone with my guitar.
"Are you guys going to take all day or should I just join another band?' I said. They scratched their heads with a goofy grin and got in their places. I was the one who sings and play the guitar. Hiroyuki is my backup singer and has an electric guitar. Rin plays the drums whilst ryota has the keyboard. "One, two and go." We started playing and I started singing.

I took a deep breath and wiped my sweat away. I finger combed my hair, I really need to cut my hair before it actually gets in my way. I looked behind me to see the others smiling, I guess this is worth seeing their smiles. "After all." I whispered. " I am the shadow and they are the light. "
Time skip
I looked above in the night sky.
"I want a heart today." Shadow said his arm around my sholder. I shrugged it off and walked to a house far away from the others. I climbed up the window and opened a random room. I saw a women and a girl sleeping. I grabed the girl and broke an arm clean off. She started screaming and the blood started flowing onto my face. I let out a blood thirsty grin and started eating the arm leaving the bone out. The women woke up and grabbed the girl trying her best to stop the bleeding.
"Why god?!" She shouted."Why rob my child's future! Why not take me demon?!" She looked at me with anger.
" I am no god." I said displeased. " I'm simply human like you are and i'm doing this because I'm hungry. " I said bluntly. I carried on eating the arm. I reached out for the baby girl but she held it away.
"Stop!" She screamed."haven't I had enough pain already?! Over my dead body will you take my baby!"
"Very well then, your wish is my command." I said almost mockingly. She held the girl tight and I stuck my hand through her chest.
"You will regret this!" She strugled to say with heavy breathing. My face was only passive until she whispered something and I couldn't contain my smirk. I tore through her chest and snapped the heart away from the body. I grabbed the heart that was no longer beating and threw it to shadow. I then grabbed her arms and opened my mouth wide biting on it. The blood was like juice and the pieces of flesh I had to chew wad like meat but better. I smiled and dug inside her stomach, flinging out the digestive system. I stuffed my face full of of blood and flesh. My face was stained with blood and until there was bones left, I didn't stop. I took notice of the girl staring at me.
"Do you wish to die as well?" I asked. She shaked her head." Will you listen to everything I tell you to do?" I asked her. She nodded her head." Then your new name will be itami which means pain. I don't really care if that's a boy or a girls name, but you will only refer to yourself as that." I said. She nodded and I patted her head smirking. "Good girl, let's hope you be obedient otherwise I will have to give you pain like your mother."
