Notice Me?

I wake up to my alarm at 6:30. I'm exhausted, but I have to get up to start getting ready! Today I'm wearing a poka-dot blouse with purple jeggings.

I get to school and immediately check the mirror in my locker. My makeup looks the best it ever has, and my first class is with Ethan. Yes! This will have to work. I walk into my class and sit down. My hair has been curled, rather than it's flimsy oily look. I rub my lips together, feeling the moisture of my red lip gloss. Finally, Ethan walks in.

My heat beats. I can hear it this time.

I try to stay calm and confident.

The class goes by, and he hasn't even glanced at me yet. My chest crumbles as I walk out of the door.

He will never notice me.

The whole day goes by, getting a total of two compliments- from Nicole and Bethany.

Bethany is a nice girl actually. She is really pretty and smart, but can't talk to people... Maybe she has social issues.

I quickly let go of that thought feeling a guilty pain. I need to talk to her.

I get home and start my homework. I read a chapter of my social studies book about how society changes our actions and behavior. Then I do a math worksheet on fractions in equations, which I strongly hate.

I finally get through it when I hear my mom calling for dinner. I eat my pizza then sprint up the stairs to pick out my outfit for the next day: a pink chevron top with navy shorts. This will definitely get me some compliments!

I even have blue eyeshadow to match.

Picking out everything gives me the idea of becoming a clothes designer, but then I quickly brushed the idea away, laughing to myself.

I finally turn off my lights and climb into my bed. I go over everything that happened today, from humiliations to the compliments. Thinking about it makes me feel better. Today really wasn't that bad.

I start to close my eyes when I hear my phone ring.

Clumsily, I reach behind me to turn my lamp on, pull myself out of the covers and run over to my phone.

I look at the callers name.
