After my little exchange with Ash the bell rang signaling that we had one minute left to get to class. I removed Ash's arm from my waist and panicked as I saw new kids quickly start pilling in the classroom. Oh fudge, this wasn't how my first day was supposed to go. I frantically started running my fingers through my hair. Wait...why am I still even in here? I grabbed my bag and exited the classroom. I wasn't able to get far as someone held me back.

"There's no point in going to class now, we're going to be late anyways" Ash reasoned.

I turned around facing her full-front. "I honestly don't care, plus the official tardy bell didn't ring yet so I still have time. I'll run, skip, or leap my ass to the next class if I have to."

"Oooor you can come with me and ditch school to have brunch" she grinned.

I shook my head. "As if I'm just going to prance off school grounds to hang with you."

Ash held her face and groaned. "Let's not do this right now."

"Do what?" I questioned.

"That!" she gestured to me.

"That what!" I mimicked her tone.

"Being a cranky old hag, and besides you agreed to give me a chance not too long ago. What happened to that?"

"I agreed to give you a chance to chill with you and grab lunch not brunch" placing a hand on my hip.

"What's the difference? We're still getting food and we're still hanging out. So why don't we just leave and enjoy each other's company." She motioned towards the exit doors.

Hm, maybe it wouldn't be so bad I thought, its just brunch. She also does have a point about being late to class anyways. Well fuck it. I nodded my head in agreement and her frown instantly brightened to a smile.

"On one condition" I smirked. Her smile fell as fast as it came. "You're paying."

"Sure, of course, I mean I did ask you to join me."

With that I sashayed out the building and I'm pretty sure when I walked pass the beauty she was checking me out. Unless it was just all in my head. Once we were out in the student parking lot I glanced over my shoulder.

"So am I riding with you or you're riding with me?" I asked.

"With me, duh"

Pursing my lips I followed behind the girl to an old beat up Toyota Camry. The thing practically looks unsafe to drive.

"Nice ride" I commented

Ash sighed and opened the passenger door for me. I gave her a quick thanks and waited for her to get in the car. The minute she got in we were off to who knows where to get breakfast.

Ash's POV

Scarlett was such a handful. How can a girl who looks like a model fresh out of a magazine be so...ugh. Why am I even taking her out anyways, she's probably just going to give me the cold shoulder. I looked over to my right to witness a lovely view. Scarlett's arm was on the car's armrest while she was gazing out the window. Her hair flowed effortlessly with the wind getting the scent of cinnamon wafting around me. Her eyes glowed luminously in the light, the whole thing felt euphoric, almost like a scene in a movie. But, that euphoric moment came to an end the gorgeous brunette turned towards me and her face morphed into one of horror.

"WATCH OUT!" she screamed.

I glanced upwards in shock, I was on the other side of the lane heading straight for a truck. Ash continued to scream in my ear hitting notes so high as if she was an opera singer. I swiftly swerved the car out the way at the last minute catching my breath. Turning beside me Scarlett looked as if she saw a ghost and started chanting many prayers. Ok... I fucked up.
