Chapter 5

         Ever since lunch break ended the rest of the classes went by like a breeze. Although that's like a good thing it just wasn't good for me, I had detention with Mrs. Flowers. I was walking down the hall to get to her class when I ran into Damien.

"Hey beautiful, why do you look as if you're ready to stab a bitch?"

"Well let's see, today during science my friends decided to be douche bags which landed me into getting detention with Mrs. Flowers" I smiled widely.

"Wow that really sucks, some friends you have there. I wonder who they could be. I wouldn't want to be around those people" Damien smirked.

I nudged him in the arm and giggled. "Whatever dude, I should probably hurry otherwise she'll go all psycho on me."

"That would most likely be best, I don't want to attend your funeral. You'll just haunt my poor soul for life"

"You know it" I said as I wiggled my fingers in front of his face.

Spending detention with Mrs. Flowers really was miserable. She made me all these stupid assignments that in no way will possibly help me in the future. Not only did I have to deal with that, but also her constant bickering about not disturbing class and what it means to be a good diligent student. I completely zoned out after that. All I was seeing was an ogre who really needs to learn how to keep the saliva in her mouth and not on my face. Luckily though, it was time for me to leave.

I walked out the school building ready to head home, but those plans were ruined by the heavy downpour of rain. I focused on the small droplets that fell from the sky. I always thought that when it rains the earth was crying, I don't know if that makes any sense. But to me that's how I see it, maybe something tragic happened somewhere on this planet and the earth is grieving. My thoughts on the rain soon diminished when a simple tap on my shoulder brought me back to reality. Looking behind me I saw none other than Ash in all her glory.

"Why hello, it seems I keep running into you. Maybe its fate" she winked at me.

"Oh puh-lease Romeo as if fate has anything to do with this. Are you stalking me?" I questioned the green haired beauty. She tucked her hands in her pockets and leaned against the wall.

"If I was stalking you, you would never know. I'm like a ninja baby, disguised in the shadows" Ash smirked as she waved her hands in circular motions.

"Baby? Really?" I rolled my eyes at her.

"Gosh, I was just messing with you, lighten up" she sighed and moved to stand beside me. "So anyways, lovely weather we got here" Ash said referring to the rain.

"Lovely weather indeed, its calming, I like it" I replied as I sat down on the cool cement staircase. Ash copied my action and sat next to me. I turned to look at her, her eyes looked as if they were in a trance studying the flow of the rain drops. She was hypnotizing and I wanted more. I heard a hum before she spoke.

"There's another party coming up this Friday. I was wondering if you and your friends would like to hang out?" Ash gently leaned back on her hands as she stared at the sky. I pondered on the question, seeing if I was available that day. Oh to heck with it, I was free every day, but like I said before, I don't really like parties. However, I did decide to be friends with her, so I at least should attend the party for her sake.

The rain stopped pouring as I got up from the stairs. Extending my hand out, Ash took hold of it to bring herself up. "I'll attend the party and I'm pretty sure my friends would join as well, they're such goofballs" I answered.

Ash's eyes lit up like Christmas lights and gave a breath taking smile. "That's great! Hope to see you at 10" and with that she walked off to her car as I did the same.

"You actually accepted the invitation to the party?!" My friends all gasped.

"Why are you guys acting as if it's the rarest thing in the world?" I questioned. It was Tuesday afternoon and we all decided to hang out at our favorite place called Static Shock. We usually come here when we want to kick back and chill.

"Well duh woman, it is the rarest thing in the world. You hate parties and now all of a sudden you just willingly agree? Something is really fishy" Jamie narrowed her eyes into slits.

"You really must have a thing for her" Damien grinned.

"Yeah right" I brushed him off. I picked up my BLT and took a large bite. Chewing on the sandwich I heard smacking sounds and stopped eating. The noise stopped and I went back to devouring my sandwich when the weird sound came back. I looked up to see Lui smacking his lips whenever I chewed. I glared at him, but he just winked at me. " Lui I swear you are the strangest boy ever."

He took a gulp of his Dr. Pepper and belched loudly. "Glad to know that and I shall forever be that strange boy only for you my princess" he stood beside me and got down on one knee, placing a light kiss on my hand.

"Okay, its official. Lui is an alien" I snatched my hand back quickly.

"You're absolutely right" he smiled. He brought a chair up and stood on it." I have traveled across many galaxies in search for you my darling! Hacking and slashing enemies who dare stand in my way" he peered across the room. Lui jumped off the chair and proceeded to act as if he was battling a monster. "Engarde!" maneuvering around the place he dodged and waved his hand around as if he had a sword. However, he suddenly stopped, wide eyed and gasping for air. "It seems I am no match for you, you foul beast...the power...the power of love...was not...strong enough!" Lui fell to the ground gracefully, like how is that even possible. His eyes closed shut and lips parted slightly made him look like a glass doll of prince charming. Suddenly his head snapped towards me with a put on his face. "You suck...I died because your love is poison" Lui stuck his tongue out at me and went back to his seat.

Abruptly an eruption of applauses and laughter filled the room. The whole dining area caught sight of the entire act. "Must you always cause a scene?" I groaned in annoyance.

"I must make my presence known. One day all you peasants will bow before me!" Lui laughed with glee.

Jamie quickly stood up with a drink raised in the air. "All hail Lui!"

"You really shouldn't boost his ego" I said rolling my eyes as I looked at my friends.

"Now who wants to be my new queen" Lui winked.
