~Riley's Pov~
It's been a few days since the incident. Shawn came up right away and stayed in the hospital for the time being.
"Shawn, maybe you should go outside, get some fresh air." Mom said
"But Katy and Maya... Something might... happen" Shawn cried
"They'll be fine" Dad assured
"No. I'm staying here" Shawn stated. Mom and Dad looked at each other. Then left. Shawn took no notice, he was too focused on Maya who was like a daughter to him. At least in my eyes. Mom and dad came in with a nurse.
"Um excuse me, sir you need to leave. Everyone who works here says you're in bad condition. I know you care about them but I assure you, they will be fine." The nurse said
"OK" said Shawn, with tears in his eyes. Shawn got up and left with the nurse, mom, and dad. Then Lucas and Farkle came running in. They grabbed a chair and sat down by Maya.
"It looks like it hurts" Lucas said
"No dip, Sherlock" I stated. We sat in silence listening to the beep on the heart machine.
"I hope she makes it" Farkle cried
"We all do" Lucas said. We sat in silence for a little while longer.
"Wha-"
*BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* Said the heart machine. I was stunned but Lucas ran out and grabbed my parents and a nurse. When the nurse was in the room, we all left the room. I was crying and no one was talking.
"Who's was that?" Lucas asked
"That was Maya's. Listen the cop pulled us aside and told us that there was a problem with Maya's heart. He said it was cut trying to get her out of the car" Mom cried. Shawn over heard and cried into dad's shoulder. A few minutes later the nurse came out.
"She's OK" The nurse said, "I'll be in there every 30 minutes to check on her"
"OK, thank you" dad said. The nurse left. We all ran in there at once but Shawn was the only one who didn't.
"What's wrong Uncle Shawn?" I asked as I came back out of the room
"I can't see her." He responded
"Me either" I said. We sat in the hall and I saw Shawn fast asleep. Pretty soon I feel asleep too, knowing that should've been me.
~Lucas's Pov~
She can't die was the only thing running through my mind as I saw her. The last thing we did was fight. We were all angry at her. She can't die mad.
"We should go home, you guys have school tomorrow." Mrs. Matthews said.
"What time is it?" Farkle asked
"Almost 10" she answered. When we went in the hall, we saw Shawn and Riley fast asleep. We had to wake them up to go home. Riley and Shawn went into the room one last time. We over heard Riley telling Shawn to leave her be for a bit. When he came out, all you could hear is Riley saying "I'm so sorry Maya. You shouldn't have had to go through this. Please don't be mad. I'll see you tomorrow." When Riley came out Shawn went in. He said "Bye guys, I promise it will be OK. I should have never said yes to saying you could come down for a year. I'm moving here now though. I just wanted to spend a year with you guys before moving here." Shawn said crying. He came out and we all went home. I can't do this anymore.
~Nurse Pov~
When that family left, I went to go check on the Hart's. When I got there everything was good. A few hours later I went back on last time before heading home, so someone else can check on them. Again everything was going fine. I was just about to leave when I heard the long beep on the heart machine. Doctors and nurses came running into the room. At first I thought it was the little girl because of what happened earlier, but it was her mother.
"CPR ISN'T WORKING" Someone shouted
"GET THE DEFIBRILLATOR, QUICK!" Someone else shouted.
"CLEAR!" *buuuuuuzzz* *ZAP*...*buuuuuzzz* *ZAP* *buuuuuuzzz* *ZAP*
"It's not working!" Someone shouted
"Is there a pulse?" Someone we shouted
"...no. w-we lost her" someone cried
"I'll call the family. Tell them to come in now." I said. I left the room and called the family.
*riiing...riiing...riiing...riiing...rii-*
"Hello?" Someone asked
"Yes, this is the hospital. You need to get here right away." I said
"W-why?" They asked
"One of the Hart's passed." I answered. That's when I heard the dial tone knowing they hung up.

One of the Hart's passed. Pretty obvious which one died but if you don't know it was Katy. What would Maya do now. Keep reading to find out.
