Brooke's hands holding tight to the sides of my face, her tears had stopped because she was now focusing on something else. I tangled my fingers in between her hair as we got closer and closer.
After all of this time you would have expected a really passionate kiss, full of lust and desire, but no, it wasn't like that. This was different, it had memories written all over it, it tasted like regret and melancholy.
But we knew this moment, just as the ones we had made years ago, couldn't last forever.
"What was that for?" She said, I noticed how relieved her voice sounded "Was that wrong?" I asked, expecting a positive response "Not at all" Brooke wiped my lips which were stained with her wine red lipstick, staring directly at my eyes "I know that you know that we both needed that" I finally said, answering her question somehow, she nodded in agreement.
"At least you're not crying anymore" I smiled at her and sat down on the bed, watching her stand there in the middle of the room, she left out a rather quiet chuckle, sadness flooding her eyes "I feel so bad Gerald, you don't get it"
"I do get it, but feeling sorry's not gonna change a thing...you're here now, that's what counts" There was no point in continuing arguing about this. What's done is done, she was here for a reason, guilt was consuming her.
Brooke slowly walked up to the bed and sat down next to me, letting out a long sigh "I guess so.." she ran her hands through her hair, thinking hard, I could tell her mind was racing. So I did it again, I grabbed her by the chin and lifted her face up, lowering my lips onto hers for the second time in the night.
She didn't hesitate and kissed me back, a little more desperate this time "I'm here now.." she said between kisses " That counts.." pulling apart "Right?"
"Right, just don't leave me tonight.." I whispered on her ear as we both surrendered to each other.
" I won't"
-------------------------------------------------------
We had little to no hours of sleep, we talked for a while, kissed a couple more times and finally fell asleep together, no funny business, just sleep.
Until I woke up to her pacing around the room very agitated, her phone ringing like crazy.
"The hell is that?" I rubbed my eyes as they got used to the sun getting in from the window "My fucking phone" which was on her hand "Then why don't you..?" I raised my eyebrow confused as why she wasn't answering it "I can't find my damn keys, my boyfriend's been calling all morning being a sicko, he probably wants to know where I am and I'm late for work.." She grabbed the bed sheets and pulled on them, uncovering me, the keys flew out and landed on the ground making a loud noise, she grunted and picked them up.
"You have a boyfriend?" I asked surprised at the way she had behaved last night but not too much, It seemed pretty common for her to cheat on people now "And a very busy day, yes, I really need to go" She kneeled down at the end of the bed and searched for her shoes under it
"Last night was nice, thank you but I'm out " She tried to put her heels on, while walking to the door, her phone still ringing, messy hair, make up all over her face "Bye" She shut the door behind her.
That was rather quick.
"Nice?" I asked to myself "It was nice?"
This girl is crazy, she was cheating on her boyfriend with the man she once cheated on too?
I grabbed the sheets which were all the way down on the floor and put them on me once again to get some more sleep.
AN: I know its short but I have been really down lately, I hadn't been able to get the inspiration flowing until now, I'll probably post a longer chapter after this.
